There is nothing special about her voice. What makes her better than these other gurls being thrown around? Florence's tone isn't very pleasant either, and she can't go very high..
I can prove you wrong right now. Watch this video and skip to 4:48 and you will see her pull a high note at exactly 4:50. >
She's pretty good here too. >
And the whole tone thing is opinionated. Some will like it, some wont. Gaga can't go higher than Florence, Neither can Rihanna.
How are Jennifer Hudson and Leona Lewis out of the running when Carrie Underwood, Adele, and Christina are still there?
And will someone please explain to me what is so amazing about Adele's voice? She has a very limited range (especially now) and can't sustain a belt nearly as well as someone like Jennifer Hudson, Carrie, or even Leona. I'm not saying that Adele is bad but the way people talk about her vocals, you'd expect her to sound like Whitney Houston in her prime and -- let's be real here, babies -- Adele will never be as good as Whitney Houston.
She has over resonated Jennifer Hudson on one occasion. See their performance at the Academy Awards.
Jennifer can't mess with Beyonce (nor Fantasia). Her strength is belting and that's all. And her notes are not controlled at all. Beyonce definitely has her beat.
I only said that cause the person I was replying to posted an average video of Florence performing and I though that was all that she could do.
Is that as high as she can go though? Lot's of different gurls can do that. I need you to post live performances of her best.
Same thing for the rest of you gurls, I'm not here for your lists I'm here for receipts.
Well what you consider the best is very unrealistic. And not every one is going to agree with you, let alone change there're opinion because you don't agree with them. Not everything in a vocalist is about power, never was.

She doesn't mix correctly. I think she's talented but she's not the best. Fantasia is good.
I think Nicole Scherzinger is a great contender for one of the best technical singers. I don't really like her tone though
Most singers (Flo likely included) don't have Mariah's range - so what? The question asked wasn't "who can match Mariah's range?".
I also am not sure what your definition of "power" is - loudness? (cause Florence has that in spades), ability to belt out a note for an extended period? (Flo can also do that) So what is it, exactly?

Do:
Whistles
Clear Low Notes
Strong Belts
Control
My definition of power: Strength, resonance, loudness.
And I never said Flo couldn't do that (did I?) I just meant that some gurls can do better.
Adele and Beyonce are surely in it. The third could go to a few, like Kelly or Xtina.
EDIT: But overall, the best vocals pop has had in the 90's etc. was Mariah, Whitney, and Celine.
