You forget that the countdown is about to begin for her November 2012 album.
They best squeeze in as many #1 attempts as they can before 12/21/2012.

Honestly, I don't think Rihanna nor Def Jam are big on the sales anymore. Let's be honest, none of them are struggling for money. And when you're raking in the millions, what's a couple thousand in profit?
It's quite clear that Rihanna & co. are here for the legendary titles and accomplishments, rather than the sales. It's a stark difference from most of the industry, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, either.
Yes, if they waited her songs would sell more, but she's never gonna be the #1 seller. That is obvious. What she does have the potential for, however, is going #1 in nearly everything else (iTunes, radio, Hot 100). They are playing to her strong suites and I think it's very smart.
I don't know about the rest of the stans out there, but I definitely would prefer 'most #1 singles ever' as opposed to '10 songs with 3+million sales'

 Not at all.
You Da One is perfect for radio. It caters to urban audiences, but the management was GENIUS to match the urban appeal with Dr. Luke beats, so that it can actually crossover to pop, as well (something Hard, Man Down, etc. failed to do).
They want a 12th #1 and they want it now.
Odds are, they'll be getting it. They know exactly what they're doing this time around, and I love it.
