Well no ****, that doesn't prove your argument though, it just proves that album sales in general have taken great hits due to piracy.

When you are a SUCCESSFULL touring artist, SONGWRITTER, PRODUCER you can't possibly do this.

Perhaps timing has something to do with their declines, but all of those artists had huge album eras, too. Rihanna usually stays consistent, but that's because she rarely sells anything over 1.5 million.

Child, I am not shading them, so calm your ass down. Trying reading.
I asked who has taken lengthy breaks in their music and saw sales increases. As you can see, floacist stated that Usher, Beyonce, and Alicia have.
Which is false. As I pointed out.

And perhaps you should try reading your damn self. I just responded to your post without getting offended, so you calm your ass down.
As I said, their declines make sense since they came off very huge eras. Not to mention, their music didn't have as much crossover appeal the following eras. It's the same thing that happened to Ms. Rihanna with Rated R. Her fans said the music was "too different" for the climate. So, I think it has more to do with those things. But timing could play a small part as well.
But really, if you have to release so often to stay relevant, then you aren't that strong or big of an artist to begin with.

What?
There isn't a rule for that, each artist has different times... but recording every year doesn't make your music less disposable.
Big artist remain succesful, doesn't need to smash every year to be remembered.

The reason why BIG artists like Beyonce, Katy Perry, Gaga and Ciara got delays in releasing albums maybe because of their big world tours......

Really where is the truth in this statement? First Thriller wasn't even Mike's best work, it was his most commercial one, he never tried to recreate it. History , Bad or Invicible have nothing in common with Thriller. So many of you know nothing about his discography out of that album, yet you act like you do.

'Bad' isn't anything like 'Thriller' --- and what's this nonsense about Rihanna will end up being more prolific than Michael? what?

Right?

And really isn't this a little too sad?

Um, No. Every artist does not NEED to release on a yearly basis
like that 's a nice way to over-expose yourself.. & where's the anticipation
But it has worked out in Rihanna's favor.. *shrugs*

Yesss. An EP somewhat related to their upcoming album would be great. It's like 3 teaser songs with a Lead single

8701 (2001) - 4 million
Confessions (2004) - 9.7 million
& As I Am and IASF sold very well given the sales decline. They actually had more impact that their previous albums. So yes all 3 of them can have gaps & still sell well.

You fail miserably at causal inference. Have you ever heard of variables.

That means no life for artists.
It' Recording-Promotion-Single-Music Videos-Tour and then next year come and you do all that all over again.
No, just no. Every artist imo should always take 6 months to a year break, just like Beonyce did when she was done with I AM...Tour.
