My review of the snippets and expectations of Talk That Talk.
“You Da One” – I never LOVED it at first because I was thinking to myself she is basically giving us the “same old same old” but w/ a new producer. It’s very reminiscent to What’s My Name in its production in my opinion but the lyrics seem to be catchy and radio friendly and after a few hours it has grown on me tremendously and it seems that it has potential to crossover so good.
“Where Have You Been” – This is giving me worldwide dancefloor anthem. I think this is a Best Dance Recording grammy LOCK (if only she was still eligible) but needless to say that this track is fire. It gives me Don’t Stop The Music and the anthemic chorus reminds me of the insanely remarkable chorus of Only Girl (In The World), an instant fave.
“We Found Love” – even though we already know this song, it still feels new and fresh even being surrounded by its album counterparts.
“Talk That Talk” – JAY –Z’s verse is insane, its catchy and its memorable. The beat seems to be irresistible lets just hope Rihanna smashes this out the park. Also one of my must hear tracks on the album.
“Cockiness ( Love IT)" – OMG can I say, this song is INSANE. This is a brand new Rihanna. Theproduction is top notch and the attitude and lyrics completely annihilate any doubts that this track is not a monster.
“birthday cake” – it’s cute, catchy, but will it deliver? The lyrics are generic but a total guilty pleasure. It will for sure be a favorite among the sexually charged.
“We All Want Love” – In the back of my mind im yelling “FILLER” but no. It seems like its gonna be a positive track with universal appeal. I mean who doesn’t want love? Her vocals sound great on it and like much of the album Im souped to listen to it.
“Drunk On Love” – This song kills me. The beat is totally reminiscent of her past hits and provides more proof that Rihanna + Ester + Stargate = MAGIC. It cant get much better than this and I wish this was even the 2nd single tbh but I digress lol.
Roc Me Out" - I need this song in full. Im just excited about everything about it. I love the production and the lyrics and the emotion. I see it being a future single. Hopefully in summer or Spring. It has that block party vibe.
“Watch N’ Learn” – Hmm I was one of the very few who was anxious and excited to hear that Hitboy was on the album but this snippet didn’t live up to my expectations. I was hoping for a *****s in Paris type swag but its too early to tell and I won’t hold it against him.
“Farewell” – The ballad track. Sounds epic by all means and her vocals are Killer. Im ready to be doomed. Hopefully this ballad tops the ballads on Loud and even match up to those of Rated R.
This is spot on except that i think You Da One is a very strong track....
