Nope, Beyonce wrote Dangerously In Love all by herself at 15 years old and it didn't make it on an album until 2001 when Survivor came out. She was also singing quality ballads in her DC days and early solo days. If an artist lack quality then they just lack quality. Adele is only 21 and both her albums are very well written all by her. Gaga is also a young girl who has been writing music since forever and she is deep. Same for Florence Welch, Mariah Carey, Diane Warren, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, and many other women who started young.
I also find having artists making the same shallow music they made when they were 18 10 years later a little weird and a little worrying. Some even seem to be maturing backwards but arguably this is their labels fault as much as their own. You have party artists and you have serious artists, it is an industry built hugely upon image and knowing your brand.
I said it in the sense that at an young age, she is able to produce really good songs.
Overall, whether you are 20 or 50 if you have the talent, you have the talent.

I can't believe you just admitted Taylor Swift is quality and deep. I will remember this.
Not really.
Age makes a choice of music style more appropriate though.
Eg: Rihanna @ 23 doing the TTT album.
Ironically, Fergie recorded some raunchy tunes of her own in her 30's. Madonna's also been extremely dirty in her 40's.
While it's important, it all boils down to image and personality.
Its unrelatable When 50 year olds are talking about ***** poppin and cotton candy and 15 year olds are talking about doing math equations and saving the world one orphan at a time
I wouldn't say it's an "excuse", but I think it's unfair how people expect artists who are 23 to do certain things, and, on the flipside, are fine with others that are 30 doing the same.
