"I eventually did hear from Avril, though, not long after I'd started working on my second solo album, Letters, which would come out in 2004. She left me a message: "Hey Butch, how are you doing?" This is Avril. I'm working on my record in LA and it's almost done, but the label still thinks that the best stuff is the first demos we did together." In particular, the label thought that the song "Don't Tell Me" might be the first single. Of course, that's one of the songs that I cowrote the bridge for, a song that I wasn't allowed to get any publishing or credit for."
He goes on to talk about them flying him out to work on more singles for her. How "My Happy Ending" started out as a stoic piano ballad he had been saving for himself that he would play for his wife. He notes he couldn't figure out a chorus for it so he put it on the back burner. Right before that, he spoke about how she was then under heat from the whole Matrix fiasco and that her manager told him he would not be receiving credit for work they did BECAUSE of that.
I just can't @ Butch exposing backstabbing her like that. I mean, I'm not surprised coming from him (hasn't he been running his mouth about Avril's career since, like, 2006?) but still, to dedicate one long-ass chapter to being butthurt about one similar sounding song? Ch... Oh, and P.S. "Larry" did do it better than you. Not to say I'm a Luke fan or that Butch's work sucks, but on that one? No brainer: Girlfriend >>>>>>>>>>.....>>>>> The Best Damn Thing.

He's just bitter that he only gained a smidgen of relevance from working with Avril. Nothing else that he does even gets the slightest attention whatsoever. And that's no exaggeration.
I know this isn't the place or anything but really
Godvril releases The Best Damn Thing (the song) and it flops epicly and is a mess overall but Madonna releases this Give Me All Your Love song and is praised by everyone and their mother?
