Seeing how TFM had a much longer tour, a year longer of sales, a more successful previous era, and 2 #1s on the Pop songs chart (airplay is the real promo), 1.5 million isn't all that impressive.
I also appreciate how you said TD won. Did you vote for TD?

No that goes to show you that I paid NO attention to TD's singles. I thought she had 6... oops! and TFM's tour has NOTHING to do with this debate (even though it SLAYED to the GAWDS)
1.8 with 5 #1 hits is NOT impressive versus and album doing 1.5 with No #1 hits.
and I didn't say TD won anything... TFM's ganered Grammy's I cannot say the same for TD.

Whatever you say, Teenage Dream keeps on slaying.
WIll Gaga ever had 5 straight #1s? NEVER.

Depends on how you look at it. What are we comparing? Album sales? Single sales? Impact? It depends. In any case, this thread is just bait for fanbases of both to go at it.

Ok just because a song goes #1 on the Hot 100, that doesn't mean album sales should go up. If a song makes it to #1 on airplay, then album songs should go up. Airplay is promotion. People hear the song, like it, and maybe buy the album. TFM had two #1s on the Pop Songs.
And Teenage Dream is past 2 million.

Nobody knows because there isn't really any way you can compare the two: one is an LP, one is an EP; One has 6 singles, one has 3 singles.

Aside from the Billboard Hot 100, in what world does TD even come close to TFM? No disrespect to Katy, but Gaga owned the world with TFM in a way that no pop star has since Britney in 1999-2000. This is a ridiculous question, and the OP knows it.

You could, but TD would slay it. So there is no sense in comparing.

Even if you were comparing the two, WHAT are you going to compare?
Are you going to compare 3 singles versus 6 singles or are you going to compare 3 singles versus the first 3 singles?
There are no album sales numbers for The Fame Monster because it is sold both as an EP and as part of The Fame. There's just no basis for comparison.

TD is certified 2x for shipments, until I see valid receipts on it actually scanning 2 million this, We can speak on that. The FACT that TFM sold half of TD with a FEW MAJOR hits says alot. Having a #1 single is indeed promo! just like Airplay. I already stated TD was more successful in terms of "numbers". what more do you want, My Initial post will remain the same.

Of course he does. He's just a troll, and K$ is no longer in the public's consciousness.

Teenage Dream was a commercial success in the US only. End.
No one knows a Katy Perry outside the U.S.

I just can't, at this mess.
Just because you have a more successful era in one place, doesn't mean no one knows about you in other areas. She has had several top tens in various countries, that would be like saying Avril is only known in Japan, and Rihanna in the UK.

Can I have a receipt showing that RIAA certifies based on shipments not sales?

Yep, because a forum could never be wrong.

Even if you compare the first 3 singles of each, TD's singles still did better. Seeing how it was released as "The Fame + Monster" that actually gives TFM an advantage over TD.

NONE of TD's single could ever reach the Epic-ness of "Bad Romance" winning 2 grammy's. Selling over 9 Million WW. Being named 9th best song of 2009 by Rolling Stone. Also tying the record for or for most nominations for a single video in the history of the VMA's (10 nods) and going on to win 7 of them. GERL plz
