ANY manager could do better than this era, and BnPac pointed out that there were multiple releases, delays, etc with the last era. The same thing happened for the B'Day era. Only DIL was her "right" era in terms of breathing room and proper scheduling afaik.
The only two common factors that it boils down to is Beyonce managing herself and radio's lack of support (which can be broken down to bad promotional/management skills, which leads back to Beyonce), honestly.

You know what I think actually I am SURE that all these decisions were hers, whether we are talking B'Day era, IASF or even DIL's eras because there is the same pattern and the same mistakes. Like you say the difference here is that she thought that because she was the one deciding which singles will be released, how will the video go, what will be the budget, which songs she would put on her album..etc, she could do it all by herself. And God she is wrong because let's face it, Matthew was not maybe an extraordinary manager (the proof is that Bey was his only succesful artist and since she is gone, he hasn't done much lately) but he was always cleaning up behind her, like release press conferences, when **** goes down with Aretha and Etta, he releases a statement, he knew how to deal with radio's stations and stuff.
Bey did a very courageous move getting rid of her daddy, she should just have picked a younger and a better manager than him but NOT her! She can't do all of it!
