Damaged her brand? There is probably more cultural awareness now around Gaga than there ever has been. Born this way, cheesy lyrics or no, was a certified international anthem because it actually means something, and TEOG finds itself being used as a classic inspirational song in all kinds of places. Her demand as a live performer is exceedingly high, everybody wants Gaga to play their event.
If by "damaged" you mean "taken more seriously by the general public", then I guess you are right. There are more people now that believe that Gaga is "inately talented, albiet a bit weird," then ever did before the BTW era.
