I won't lie... I could understand why they thought "Never Ever" would be a hit.

Ciara could be killing everyone if she did her own take on "europop" she'd slay with the video and the live performances. She can dance her ass off and her vocals have improved and she's gorgeous. There's no reason why she isn't huge right now except she doesn't realize her niche in the industry is more black Britney. NE was my jam but Ciara never performed the song, she basically never promoted it anywhere.

Also Ciara needs to stop relying on rappers to make her songs hits. The last time she had a lead single by herself was in 06 with "Promse".

I know she can become successful again she just has to believe in herself. Its kinda hard to support a artist that doesn't believe in themselves.

Her "classic" and most succesful Crunk&B sound is completely outdated and irrelevant, so its very hard for her to go "back to her roots" and retain the original fanbase when the original fanbase has completely moved on from that sound. And she was never that big of a star anyway, or had a big public profile. I don't see how she would be able to become succesful again as a singer unless she found an "Umbrella"-type smash hit. But then what producer would give a surefire smash song to Ciara?

Who said she was trying to go back to 2004? What sense would that make any way.

And death, she's performed on nearly every major award show, sold a decent amount of records, became the face of a few companies, and has a ton of coverage in the fashion world.

The general public view Ciara as an R&B artist. That's the reason Jive wanted her to collaborate with Justin with LSM, to help gain some mainstream fans that seemed to have abandoned her. The problem is, R&B artists aren't really sellers unless it's by established artist like Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Sade, etc.

Over the years, however, I do feel a good amount of people just don't care. Some of the choices she's made have come off as "desperate" which could have turned off some prior fans, but I still like her and her music so hopefully this next era will be something of a happy medium instead of drastic changes.
