"He Doesn't Know I'm Alive" is easily Janet's best vocal of the 80s, followed by "Love Will Never Do", if you're counting the actual release of the album.
The last few seconds of "Livin' In A World" is the reason why I don't listen to that song often. I just can't with that part.
But what do you think about "Funny How Time Flies" ?
From 0:55 to 1:05 and 1:35 to 1:43, I rarely heard her sounding so strong and precise.
There's also the "don't you ever leave" and "don't you ever go" part.

I hate All For You. I tried to like it but no !
It's kinda like Loud IMO. 2/3 great songs and the rest is pure trash.
What was even more shocking is that it came out after her best album.

Let's not forget her collaboration with Elton John, as long as we're on inspirational Janet.
Her part starts at 2:12. It starts off slow, but it's one of her best vocal moments.
That was cute. It reminded of The Beauty And The Beast theme song for some reason.
The problem with most of Janet's albums is that her interludes take up a batch of her albums. With a "concept" album like Rhythm Nation 1814, it works. However, while I thought janet. contained some of her best songs, I also felt that it was cluttered with too many interludes and some filler. She should have trimmed that album down a bit.
"Again" > "Come Back To Me"> "Let's Wait Awhile">>> "God's Stepchild"> "Truth"> "Every Time"> "With U">>>>>>>>>>>>> *insert your fav Janet ballad >here<*
And Billboard agrees, sis.
And Janet agrees, sis.
And you agree, sis.
And I agree, sis.
"Let's Wait Awhile" gets more airplay TODAY than "Again", as does "Funny How Time Flies". Looks like TIME agrees sis. Just goes to show which song is classic and the public still enjoys.
KIII @ "Where Are You Now" going top 40 on airplay and it wasn't even a single. It was gonna punch "Again" right down had it been released.
90% of her ballads punch "Again" right OUT the game.
In reference to that other post, 20 Y.O. and Discipline are decent albums. No Janet album is bad like people make them out to be. There are some gems on each album.

I think janet. might be her most overrated album IMO. It seems to be a fan favorite, but I never liked it as much as everybody else did. It's good, but it ain't ALL that. I haven't listened to it in full in a minute though. I might have to. My opinion might change.
this is 1 of her best sensual songs ..i love how she does the deeper notes lol ..
I swear this song is so ****ing good, the entire 'janet.' album is a masterpiece especially "Again" "Where Are You Now" "The Body That Loves You" "Any time, Any Place" and Whoops Now

That album is too long. Like 70 minutes and over 25 tracks? Just too much for me. I hope Janet's next album is like 10 tracks. I'm not here for the interludes AT ALL.

Yeah the 10/11 track albums are usually the best because there is no filler. I wouldn't mind a 12 track album though. And I like the interludes. 3 interludes wouldn't hurt.

janet. isn't really a fan favorite. Her three best albums are widely considered to be Control, RN1814 and Velvet Rope, in any order. janet. has more filler than any of those and really needs to be remastered.
