I honestly believe the people who say WFL is one of her best songs just exhibit their clear lack of musical taste. I think for anyone to say that a club banger, which is really its purpose, is one of her best songs, is an insult. You all honestly sound like people who just love music they can fist pump to, completely ignoring the blatant lack of substance.
The song does not offer anything interesting or new, and sounds like anything David Guetta could put out. If she wants to make great dance songs then she needs to follow the footsteps on S&M, OG, and DSTM.

 | Yes, it isn't her best. Far from it. She has some very deep, meaningful and different songs. Some people will always "love" new stuff more than old stuff though, that's just how some people are.  |

Sis, it's only growing on people because of the video. OG didn't need a video for everyone to fall in love with it.Quote:

What WFL has going for it, is the production that ***** all over O.Gs and as you said, the video. The video of O.G was so boring it hurt, it was easy on the eyes though.

Sis, all am hearing is, how its growing on people so i dont know, what your basing your conclusions of.

And I'm sorry but the production of WFL sounds like any other house track.

We can all be offended and be upset with Hiphy about it but I'm definitely not taking back what I said.

 | I definitely don't agree. I'd also be fine with her never doing a song like S&M again. I think it's very average & it probably has the worst lyrics of any dance song she's ever done.  |

  | Nope. (& a bit yes)
Melina Matsoukas talking about the songs:

	Quote:

		| “It makes you feel so good, like you’re lost in electricity or love or whatever it is, you’re lost in it, Rihanna has a voice almost unreal in it, like after the drug affect your mind” she said about the track. “Obviously, it feels easy to put her in a club with some lights … so it was really trying to capture that feeling and also what she’s singing about.” |
	Quote:

		| “[The song's] totally rave-y… a toxic production and that’s the feeling, just music rushing over you, and then Rihanna & I started thinking about drugs and addiction and love and how that’s an addiction,” she said. “We’ve all lived the ups and downs of being in a toxic relationship. It’s really about the obstacles of trying to let it go, but at the same time how great it makes you feel, so it’s hard to let it go". |    |

I don't much care for S&M myself, I treat it like WFL, a quick listen every now and then. However I prefer the structure of S&M to WFL.Quote:

The second verse is a bit rushed. But that reminds me of my issue with WFL, which is the lack of words. I feel like I'm listening to the karaoke of the song and every time she stops, I'm supposed to pick up where she left off. If WFL basically had more singing and something more exiciting about it, I'd love the song.Quote:

When you hear the song the first thing you want to do is dance. The substance of the song is clouded by the club-y feel of the song. When people hear this they don't want to go break up with their abusive boyfriend, they want to ***** pop and drink to the fact that he's out of town for a week.
