Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus is a whole different ballgame because Miley was releasing albums, EPs and singles for both simultaneously and had a successful TV show promoting her. Regardless, gospel albums are not worldwide or even huge U.S. successes, and are not meant to be.
And you're missing the point. Either way she's barely having success when it comes to album sales, Pop or Gospel. And for that reason I believe that her Gospel album should count as three for her. Low performance is no excuse because all of her albums have low sales.
Okay now let's NOT! What is so embarrassing about that? That was the whole image of the album to beginning with, Teenage Dream IS the name of her album.
I Cant believe some people on here are saying gaga is fading , yet she still makes a greater impact then any artist alive right now AND she sells more albums then Rhianna and Katy. BTW will follow that trend. If Katy is the future of pop then im worried. Not really bothered about Rhianna because i know she can make quality music.
It is not! To each their gimmicks, some wear meat dresses, some other play the kid. It is all desperate call for attention, whether one is more tasteful than the other (and that is still very debatable), the objective is the same.
Ok but on a final note, I do think the OP may be right. The popstars who used to be entertaining beyond their ready-made hits have all stumbled.
Gaga doesn't want to work with hitmakers, and she's putting out material that isn't what people want from her.
Beyonce's music is struggling in the marketplace and what's most disconcerting is that even Countdown, a poppy fun dance song, is struggling.
Britney just isn't Britney anymore.
Be careful what you wish for though. When their songs have stopped playing on the radio, the most entertainment you might get from the future of pop is getting called a **** on Twitter.

I don't think you have a point. You picking things to suit you and to make Rihanna some huge force when she's really that much better. Either way, Rihanna and Katy could surprise everyone and be one of the two pop stars standing 10 years from now, while the others are trying to scrape up change. Who knows? People thought Madonna was just a fluke and Cyndi Lauper would be the bigger pop icon, but that's not what happened.
1.Image
2. Album, lying naked on clouds of cotton candy
3. Candy theme
4. Few generic singles
You have to take everything into consideration.Public won't fall for that.More like they're being embarrassed to pick up copy of your album or just don't take you seriously. Look at how hard is LMFAO smashing with singles yet no one buys their album. Why?Get it now?
I HATE THAT. It absolutely discredits everything she's worked for. Katy and Ke$ha are still newbies, they have yet to prove themselves. It'd make more sense to say Gaga and Rihanna are in the same league. At least that comparison is fair.

Dr Luke's singles don't make people sell albums now do they? They make them sell singles, something Britney and Katy are doing just right.
"Pon Da Replay" type of songs was what was POPULAR at that time, Lumidee and the rest were doing just that, and it was a great success so yes they are comarable. Plus she was labelled as RnB out of the gate, a genre who was really successful at that time.
Not It wasn't. At the time there were no Carribean Influenced Dancehall songs out. Other than Sean Paul who success was past peaking during that time. So the success of another dancehall esque ruling the charts was slim to none. At the time Crunk, Hip-Hop & Ciara were at their peak as far as music in the early 00's go. Beyonce was the only R&B girl at the time showing longevity at the time. Where as Katy who debuted the same time Gaga,LMFAO and the other that debuted during the start of Pop/Dance crazy.

Ugh. No one grouped anything, i simply said katy could follow Rih's footsteps.
But shes still selling more albums then your fave , and makes bigger cultural impacts ?
Yet Katy is still selling more singles than your fave? All fans only want to point out why there fave is better than another, when there are far more points to look at.
