I'm upset the Katy Perry after Gaga thread was closed. I was about to go in on some Katy Cats. Katy's always used "gay" as an insult yet exploited homosexuality to sell records and only jumped on the gay rights/love yourself bandwagon when Gaga and a few others made it cool. What Katy fails to understand is that being pro-gay rights and supporting self-expression is not and never has been a trend; it's a reality.

Don't you just love when they're like, "UR SO GAY" is just a joke and "I Kissed A Girl" is just Katy having fun. There's nothing wrong with that! Mind you, most of them are heterosexual girls who have no grip or concept on gay rights.

Exactly. Ur So Gay completely stereotypes gays and, while it's obviously not the first time it's been done, it perpetuates those negative stereotypes and Katy is essentially using "gay" as an insult. And most Katy Cats conveniently have forgotten about the fact that, after Tokio Hotel won the VMA in 2008 for Best New Artist over Katy Perry, Katy threw a bitchfit and decided to dedicate the song "Ur So Gay" to them. There's nothing wrong with exploring one's sexuality, but "I Kissed a Girl" just exploits homosexuality to sell records because it's socially acceptable and even "hot" for two girls to kiss; the song isn't even based on a real experience: Katy's never kissed a girl, and she's admitted to it many times. She's just using girl-on-girl action just like she uses gay bashing to sell records, and she's doing the same thing by jumping on the gay rights bandwagon with Firework and calling it an anthem for the outcasts then proceeding to caricature outcasts in Last Friday Night. She's a joke, a plastic, hypocritical, talentless **** who will do anything to sell her generic records.
