I would have LOVED a video for this!! I wonder what she would have done? I always imaged her being a stalker and just all over some dude, lol. It's just so dark, desperate, and intense. Love it!!

Her last full performance of it was in the Bahamas, 2009. I like the background vocals by J&K during the bridge.

Addicted I still think would have SLAYED and honestly would have been a GREAT song to make a bridge to crossover to the My December era. People were to use to the really bubble gum pop Kelly and if this would have came off the success of the other Breakaway singles, I honestly think people would have not bashed My December as much as they did for being so dark. All in all this songs leads to My December and where she evolved as a artist.

THIS is the video that always breaks my heart.
This is the show that she did in Irvine CA during the time she wrote the song Irvine and it's either rumored or confirmed that right before the show is when, I believe it was a break-up but it was a serious personal issue! It was also said that in the the dressing room before the show, she was crying so hard she couldn't even talk AND she cancelled her meet & greets for the show. She still sounds very good singing wise but she looks so unhappy, it must have been really hard to perform right after a personal problem occurs. On the bright side, we would've have gotten the Irvine masterpiece if it wasn't for that.
BTW, If I remember correctly, she wrote Irvine in her dressing room so it had to be this show she wrote the song!

Addicted. I don' even know where to begin with this song. When I first heard Breakaway, it was my favorite song automatically. This song really touches me. I think it was when I was going through my "I hate the world" teenager phase so it was perfect to play in my room on repeat. lol.
Its still one of my favorite songs by Kelly. So dark and raw. Its why I love Kelly.

I hate that it was never a single. I love it. It kinda makes me upset that she had to break ties with David and Ben. Personal issues and opinions aside, they made magic together.

Oh gosh the Irvine thing was such a long time ago. I'm so glad she got over whatever the issue was. I believe at the Irvine concert she ended it early. During the Breakaway era she had the meet and greets after the show. So she ended the show early, canceled the M&G, and locked herself in the bathroom backstage. That's where she wrote the song "Irvine". I remember her saying everyone was telling her to open the door. Her brother and her best friend Ashley D. where there, but she just didn't want to be around anyone. That must have sucked. I don't think she'll ever say the full story as to why she was down and what she did. I remember her saying that was her lowest point.

I have done that so many times where I just broke down and locked myself in a room or something and jus sat in a corner. Although, I of course play My December durning those hours

Its so crazy how she was the most depressed when she was at the height of her career. She had all the success in the world during the Breakaway era but she was going through so much personal issues. It must've been such a crazy rollercoaster ride.

I always think about that when I listen to My December since that album is mostly about that point in her life. I've been listening to Racehorse alot too lately and it makes me so sad.
