And what about Brazil? The venues seemed to be quite empty there as.
Or is Rihanna the MEGA internatinal act that she is if only the Navy gets to choose which countries are a part of the world?
So many questions. Barely any answers.

She's extremely popular and successful in the United States - maybe not as astronomically successful as some of the other girls - but she is. She's a force in the U.S. But not even just that, but I found it curious how he refused to acknowledge any other countries EXCEPT the U.S. when Rihanna has become a force nearly everywhere else.

Bringing up other artists isn't going to change reality. Rihanna's gotten lazy way too early. She's enjoying the fruits, rather working harder to really implement herself for real. That's why it was so easy for Katy & GaGa to come and take her sales when they did - because she didn't work hard enough during her prime. She doesn't dance, seemingly has no desire to learn to allow herself to gain the respect of having a stage presence. She isn't a songwriter. I'll give her thumbs up on her vocals improving since she came out, though.

She co-directed many of her videos, pretty sure she is the main of WFL judging from the pics.
The only thing she needs to do a bit more is songwriting, I am sure she did that in this 6th album. Loud was quick and probably just an exception.

I don't believe she does, I've been in several arguments with Rihanna stans and they NEVER brought this **** up, I even asked a Rihanna stan to explain to me how is Rihanna talented...he told me to go listen to Rated R (which isn't saying much) -- he couldn't even explain what makes Rihanna musically talented. I think you're serving me luke warm water, not tea. And I don't want any.

That's an understatement. He's in every Rihanna thread to flamebait.

NOOOOOO sis. What did Britney do on Femme Fatale? What did she contribute to? What does she like about the album besides "its cool." When did she play piano on recordings? Where are her choreographed videos this era?
Rihanna wrote half of Rated R. Created the image and sound. Picked the fashion for her tour, was hands on. Rihanna co-directed DSTP and Disturbia. She also came up with the S&M video concept and Man Down.
Lets not before I get 50 warning points.

Sis, what's the tea on you having to skip back to Rated R to combat against Femme Fatale? Like do you already know that Rihanna's involvement on Loud was minuscule and is only getting smaller judging by the lead single off her new album? You're acting as if Rihanna is some original bitch when half of the **** she's done has been subject to copyright infringement. Let's not do it.

And I love the bitches in here that have the inside scoop over at Death Jam or something, with all of their "She only writes one or two lines", "she only gets that creative director title because Def Jam buys it for her" Like honestly, I wish I had the bug you guys have.

If she wants to do fun and superficial music, let her be. Plus it is not like her previous albums were profound masterpieces, she is in her lane, the one her label crafted for her. Rated R was actually the one that was different from the rest not the other way around so I don't get that "old" rihana thing and even that was not really "deep".

She's made it obvious in both interviews and on Twitter that she likes every album she releases more than the previous one.

gurl, yes she does, she stated that. You are very ignorant, and honestly, I am not here for your desperate trolling.
In the meantime, Rihanna is going to sell at least 5 million albums more and get recognition and grammys in the process

I hate to bring madonna in this, but....True Blue was her fun album, but she was still hands on in the production and songwriting. Most of the songs were lovey dovey, happy, young and fresh, but were superior in quality. That just goes to show you that rihanna can still make "fun, happy" songs while STILL being creative and actually having more involvement in the album. I just want rihanna to get more respect and be taken seriously as an artist. The only way that can happen is if she stops letting everyone do things for her.

I know, right? Until I see some papers proving that they work for Def Jam and know the tea on how many words and letters Rihanna contributes to her songs, their point is invalid.

|
For me personally, it doesn't even have to be a "deep" or "mature" record. She is young. Britney recorded and put together In The Zone at 23. The album is nothing but about ****ing and clubbing, appropriate for her age you'd say - but it actually sounds like a mature album she put her all into. In terms of the production, her inclusion in actually being involved in the writing (i.e. not listed last in every song credit), and exploring with producers about the ideas and concepts she had at that time in her life.
Rihanna just seems so unrelated and impersonal to the music she's making. Bar Rated R, of course. But if she has to get abused to make something like that, then ch.

How many times do we have to say that writing is not the be all, end all for creativity and involvement?

Her visuals that many of her fans give her credit for are usually copied out of editorials (LOUD Album Booklet/S&M/Only Girl). I've seen a video of Brit discussing her video concept with the Director (which she didn't get sued for). She also hasn't written herself a song. Didn't Brit Brit write herself Everytime? I don't know of and can't really think of anymore but I don't see how it is so laughable that Brit has contibuted more to her 'image/sound' than Rihanna.
|
YAS!!!! TELL HIM! Britney has written/co-written more songs than just 'Everytime' but we won't get into that because this thread isn't about her. Certain members of the Navy still haven't gotten that yet.

Are you joking? Shes implemented choreography in her tour for the first time since...ever.
Have you seen either LGOE Tour or Loud tour? If you saw both you would see the VAST improvment of her movement skills.
She has been on tour and promoting other singles for the past two albums. It would be impossible to also write all her songs, do tons of choreography and release an album, she'd....die.
