But Britney is loved because of the ICON image she left behind. Her performances, songs, videos and breakdown. Shes an icon.
She doesn't live up to that epicness as much these days, its sad. But I still believe in the girl, just like i believed in her during the break down. And she came around!

You can say I'm making excuses but you know it's true. If you had been through half the **** Britney has in her lifetime, would you really wanna give your all in your work when all it would bring back is the mass media attention that she obviously isn't fond of.
My point remains....I'm not here for excuses. If her breakdown hurt her that bad, then she honestly needs to speak up, and sit down for a nice break. If she's not coming with IT - then she needs to take IT elsewhere.

I don't know, but she has a lot of fans who feel nostalgic. Just look at how many of her fans on here are always bringing up why they still support her even though she's a stage zombie and virtually invisible on stage. It's always about how she was in the past. I also think she's root-able. The media tore her down, but she didn't budge. Plus, she has a nice personality and isn't mean to anyone - not her peers, fans or haters. And it helps that she jumps on every pop trend of the moment.

OMG. Almost everyone I know who loves Britney always says first "when I was a little girl she was my idol..."
They cant get over this idolization they experienced growing up. It brings back their childhood nostalgia and they just love that. It doesnt even really have to do with the music now - its catchy enough, but its Britney Spears, the cute little Pop star from the 90's!
It's sad that most of the shade come from stans. My non-stans friends who don't even listen to her music praised Britney for her dancing in TTWE they don't even see the difference between the old and new Britney.
