I don't know why this myth is so popular here. She is signed to a commercial label. She wants the ****ing money. Until she leaves Interscope and signs with an Indie label, or puts her money where her mouth is and makes music for free, she does not have unlimited freedom.

BTW is the second worst song she's ever written behind Hair.

Right guys, we want her to attend, so we need her to win to make that happen. You can vote as many times as you want, just refresh the voting page and vote over and over again. When? Simple. Sitting on ATRL waiting because the server is slow? Cast a few votes. Waiting for someone to reply to you in the thread? Cast a few votes. Dead thread? Cast a few votes. She can win with our support, but we need to be organised. Vote using the link below:

I hope you guys are requesting/voting. If the **** rumors are true, then the exposure from winning at the EMAs will be a good launching point into it out of the lukewarm response to You and I in Europe.

And does the fact that they're not commercial matter at all?
A good song is a good song, no matter if it's commercially friendly or not.
I really can't understand why is almost every fan in today's music industry so obsessed with the charts. And the worst thing imo is that they're becoming more important than music quality for many of them

So you're mad because the song you dislike the most smashed and the material you enjoy most isn't commercially accessible?

Sounds to me like you just shouldn't be involved in any way with what music of hers is released.

Uh, doesn't this era/CD kind of solidify this myth?

Yes, because she's a commercial artist
BTW contains some of the dumbest lyrics I've ever read. "Whether life's disabilities left you outcast, bullied, or teased, rejoice and love yourself today." The rest is cliche garbage.
I see LG stans from time to time trashing Firework's lyrics, and the irony is that BTW is just as stupid. Katy did it first, too

Lmao, yes, Gaga must be on the verge of getting dropped from Interscope with her Top 10 hits and second best-selling album of the year.

You sit here and see kids like Jamey commit suicide and leave videos and messages like he did addressed to her personally and still wonder why she would choose to release such material?
It's not like it's not pop. It's not like it's not selling in huge numbers. It's not like it's not Gaga. It is like your complaints are

A) BTW was written before Firework released (before TD was, anyway).
B) If you're gonna start on other artists doing it first, you need to . Gaga's always been supporting equality and all that, even when her career took off. Now, so has P!nk, but pretty much most people who took off with it (K$, KP, etc) are just hopping on the bandwagon.
C) Is what she says in BTW a lie? Is what she says that stupid? It's supportive, and it gives an amazing feel. Same with Hair. The feel-good thing is amazing, and it's what's needed nowadays, considering how many people get bullied or commit suicide, as Jamey did.
D) She's changing what "commercial" means, and pretty much anything in the music biz. She can do what she want, and it's not like BTW flopped. Even after Judas released, BTW was still smashing, and it's legendary.
CLOCKED.

If you're dissatisfied about This Era, you don't have to post in this Era's "discussion thread."
Come back next era if you like it. If not, STAY ON THE LOG OUT BUTTON.
Not complicated.
It's ok to be dissatisfied with Gaga's music this go-round. However, coming here to post about how it sucks is stupid. It's not going to change the album. Gaga isn't going to listen to your individual thoughts about how she's destroying her career (unless you're Nicole apparently).
Get over yourself.
However, I am pleased to let you know that you can post in other threads.
I could suggest/point you to the Katy Perry thread, the Rihanna thread, or even the Britney thread.
Which would you prefer?

Jamey's suicide was really sad, especially his last tweet to her. But that doesn't change the fact that the lyrics suck and her anti-bullying shtick is annoying. It is not up to her to save these kids. I don't like how her fans pin their hopes/dreams/aspirations, literally their life on her. I don't know what Jamey should have done or if there even was something he could have done, but music/a pop star can't and shouldn't be a matter of life and death.

So now it's a bad thing to try and cheer people up?
She's not begging everyone to pin everything on her. She's just helping around, and she's doing a good job with it.

I think it just speaks to our generation. Lady Gaga, certainly wasn't the first artist to parade for the 'disenfranchised' community, but she was certainly the loudest in a while and I think going further into her career she realized what she meant to some of her fans.
I don't think any decent person could realize that and turn their back on that. The fact that she actually grabbed the devil by the horns during this era and did more than people expected of her with the obvious consequence of flopping miserably, after having worked her way to the top and doing the commercial thing (The Fame), shows her genuine compassion for her fans and if anything, should be commended for it.
