The cons of drug use are less severe than the cons of prostitution? Really?

And how is **** not prostitution? You're paid to have sex. The only difference between that and prostitution is that one involves camera crews, and the other doesn't. I seriously don't understand how one can argue that it's not the same thing.

I don't think you get it. It's because when you legalize it, MORE trade will happen, of course because it's legal. Just because human trafficking wouldn't be illegal anymore would NOT make it any less harmful
I answered that one too many times

Wouldn't it be more convenient to just legalize it, then?

I'm not saying it's a good thing that she has no other option. I meant that if she honestly has no other option, (and I'm just going by an assumption that no rape would be involved with all her customers, though that's obviously unrealistic), there's no problem with her trying to be able to feed her family with the money she gets.
Oh, yeah, that's right. People want her to go to jail for it.

True, in Nevada its like that. But legalizing it also increases crime rate, which is why Nevada's crime due to prostitution is a lot higher than other states

Ok. Well child, if you read more of my posts you would see that I believe these women need to be shown other options, they need HELP, not to be arrested. People that turn to prostitution need help getting things back on track. Legalizing it will drive more people into the industry, that is not a good thing for the industry workers. May it be safer? Yes. Will they be happier? Most likely not. The problem doesn't need to be labeled taxable, it needs to be fixed. People like to shove this one under the rug.
I go with my Aunts Church group, even though I have nothing to do with the church, to try and find out what drove these women to it in the city and to try and help them find another option. More of that is needed.

But if they don't have enough money to support themselves/family and have to resort to prostitution,
what makes you think they have enough money to go and live in a country where it is legal?

Yes really. Like for example, you can use some illegal drugs for medicinal benefits. You can't, in any possible way, find prostitution to be helpful besides giving one person the rights to another human, slavery in a sense

Don't y'all who are arguing that prostitution is scarring for those who enter it or that others are forced into it think that this could be regulated or eliminated if it were legalized?

Did he lie though?
Sorry to break it to you but at 13 you feel all grown up and like you know about these things but truth be told you are still a child and you know very little. It is nothing to be ashamed of, this is not something you should need to be worrying about or getting involved in. Go watch Phineas & Ferb and do homework or something. ENJOY being a kid. No shade, seriously, don't try to grow up too fast.
We are all still learning here but most of us have hit puberty, finished school etc etc, have a little more world knowledge.

And yes, I see what you mean by this. I guess you do have a good point. Everyone should be shown a better option. I was only saying that if she had literally no other option, though there, according to you, will always be a way better option.

No. In Nevada it's legalized and regulated, but the crime rates due to prostitution is higher than other states (I felt like I said this already)

With help there is always a better option. I don't know you, I don't want to make an enemy. Let's just not do this. Don't shade me for not knowing if you were a boy or a girl, that happens to pretty much everyone here, it is extremely hard to tell. I had assumed you were a girl due to posting style and the heart in your name.

And you do not understand that when something is legal, it can regulated, and therefore it reduces the issue of abuse. Why is that so hard to understand? Look at the countries where prostitution is legalized. Do you see them falling apart as a society because of it? No. Guys still get what they want, and the women are protected as opposed to having to fear for their lives.
Think about it. A prostitute in this country who's assaulted by a client or a pimp cannot report the crime, because they themselves are doing something that's illegal. This disadvantage is what causes all the horrible downsides that go with it.
