Its a cute attempt and hopefully something good can come out of the tragic situation.
If not we'll have to wait for something even more tragic to happen, Sad but this is how people wake up and smell the coffee.

If someone does bullying bad enough, it's already against the law. What defines bullying? Most of us have been bullies at some point in time. Especially when we were young. Then we grow out of it. This is a tricky situation..

Bullying has existed for a long time, but it's become FAR more extreme due to the digital age; my mom and I were just talking about it.
Just because something has been around for a while doesn't mean you don't do anything about it.

If someone like Adele or Beyonce had made that statement, would there be so much hate and negativity in this thread?

I'm not one to defend Gaga, like, ever, but I actually agree with this post a lot. We all know Gaga is a huge attention ***** and that it's not unlike her to do things for attention and attention only. But she's meeting with the President of the United States for Chrissakes! How many times does she have to fight for bullying for people to realize she actually does care? If it were a publicity stunt, it wouldn't be so recurrent. She would simply do a song about it and move on (like a certain someone ).

But meeting with the President of the United States of America to pass a law that gets rid of bullying everywhere like she wants is highly unlikely.

still, meeting with the president would be nice promo

It's all sad, and I really am upset that he committed suicide, but there's something about Monsters treating him like he's so special cuz A) Gaga mentioned his suicide and B) that he's another monster and committed suicide, that's really pissing me off.

1) He mentioned Gaga as what kept him going b/c of BTW in his vid, which is how she quickly found out
2) If Bullying was a "non-issue" this kid would have not killed himself, nor the other bullied people.

Seriously, how could you post something like this and not know how stupid you sound? Gay marriage just started in America in 2003.

Gay marriage is a social issue, bullying is NOT!! As I've already said, bullying has much, much deeper roots. It's rooted at the core of the ****ed up human psyche, and there will FOREVER be kids in the playground who might have something missing at home and decide to take it out on skinnier kids.
Y'all need to realize that bullying won't end unless we live in some kind of perfect utopia.
Gaga's efforts are cute and whatnot and you politically correct gerls are obviously going to deem yourselves the winners of this debate, but bullying isn't going to ****ing stop, it's not something a god damn law can change.

Your criticism is so empty of any content whatesoever. You question her authenticity, then seemingly concede that issue and begin questioning whehter or not she'll actually make a difference, as if trying isn't enough. God forbid she actually use her celebrity voice to shine light on an issue as serious as this.
She's been championing this same issue since the start of her career, wrote an entire album inspired by it (liberation from "it"), and people still throw out baseless accussations of fame whoring. So ****ing LAME.
......
Also, how logical is it to conclude that due to an injustice existing for a long time it is therefore beyond fixing?? With that mindset, nothing would get accomplished in this world.

First that i never said that she was oh so concerned about the cause, and second that this was a nice and simple messege that, if i'm not mistaken, the hashtag was removed because of Gaga stans. I like you, but really, stop trying to create something that is not there.

Only a politically correct idiot would think that bullying is something that a law can stop.
That's all I'm trying to say.

The hype from the Monsters is what Gagas attention, not the other way around.
How can her and her fans caring and wanting to make a difference ultimately be a bad thing? Some use it for attention and are total hypocrites but Gaga wants to make the world a safer and happier place for troubled youths, what is wrong with that?

Guys, I don't think Gaga actually believes she can cease bullying all together Perhaps Gaga means stronger reinforcements. Stronger penalties for teachers/administrators who do not treat the bullying seriously. Stronger penalties for the bullies. Maybe classes on respecting yourself and others. Who knows....Fact is Gaga is not going to get this done all by herself, obviously. That is why she is bringing the attention the world. Lady Gaga is the biggest star in the world right now. People look up to her. So of course it helps to state her cause in hopes of influencing her 'followers' to do the same. Not to sound cheesy, but Gaga needs us on this campaign as well. So please, stop discrediting every little thing she does. It is annoying, and quite frankly disturbing + psychotic

There would be even more negativity, Gaga isn't the only one with haters and for any artist doing anything especially on ATRL, There will always be naysayers.

SO YOU DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT?!!
As KD said, you may not be able to stop bullying, but you can DECREASE the frequency of it.

I literally just laughed my ass off at this. I won't even read the rest of this post likely filled with ****ery if you are are really beginning your case with a sentence THAT delusional.

Plus Britney doesn't post on her own twitter so... we don't know how strongly she feels about it tbh.

This isn't a matter of political correctness. It's a matter of humans helping humans because we're all here for the same reasons and should all have the same rights to be ourselves and not be backed into such dark places.
