By the general public? Feck no. Just look at this thread as an example. People are constantly putting her down and making fun of her. She gets no respect in the US.
By her fans? I think so. But at the same time, she's still here, after 30 years, making millions. She's the most successful female artist in history. So how can you overrate that? There's clearly something there besides "luck" that has propelled her throughout the years. Other divas have fallen out of the game but Madonna always gets back up. She's special and she's different.

No. And Rainbows, I don't know what Madonna albums you've listened to, but Erotica, Ray of Light, Music, and Confessions all say no to your claims. They also say no to The Fame / Monster and BTW, but that's another matter. If anything, Madonna is underrated on ATRL and too quickly dismissed by ignorant teens listening to Kesha or Katy Perry as "too old".

I nearly can't stand Madonna on most days, but no.
She's smart, makes good music according to some and is an energetic performer.
So overall, no. But as a performer, yes, a tad. She's never been that great of a performer to me and i don't understand what it is that puts her music above that of other pop artists.
I applaud her for her longevity and her ability to not only craft the sound she wants for an era, but the image.

They're still better than 90% of today's radio, though.
I've personally only listened to her 2000s decade releases all the way through, so I'm not inside and out familiar with everything she's done. But from what ive heard, she is just so damn amazing. That's why I Stan.

I find her voice hideously nasal. She is a smart business woman and deserves her success because of it but she is not that talented. Everybody likes a couple Madonna songs though, her music has lasted that is true. I like some of her music but I do not like her and it has been a long time since she has released anything worth buying, she sells purely off the fact that she is Madonna. Much like Britney now does. I respect her as a business woman and as an artist but I personally think she is over-rated and I can't stand the bitch.
