I kinda feel bad for Britney, exchanging her album selling artist status for singles selling one. I guess best of both worlds since she been there done that with selling albums. However, a normal brain would think such relentless promo could at least secure a seat in the Top 20. To each its own.

Well Britney is an artist who's been at it for 13 years. She's at that place where she should be in command of her sound and trying out new and different things. Instead, she's working with people who spawn singles artists. So the results are expected. But I won't get into it any further; this is not the place.

Xtina was in command of her sound but sadly she didn't try out new and different things. Avril and Xtina are showing similar album sales pattern, going downhill with each release. Their faults tho.

Katy has been making a home in the Top 30 for a while now, still selling consistently - well maybe Britney should discount her album as regularly too.

Rebirth wasn't like his typical sound at all & had no performances iirc, & definitely no hit single. DTW sold good but I don't think it had good airplay.

As for IANAHB, it was meant to be an EP just to tide fans over until CIV. However, it turned into an official album since it didn't fit EP criteria with the length. But still, the album wasn't meant to be anything important to his career. Hardly any promotion & not a single video shot.

Rebirth was terrible. I don't think Wayne's fans wanted to hear him "sing" over a "rock" instrumental.

Actually I think Xtina strayed too far from her origins and tried too many different things, which caused a big decline. The same thing is happening with Gaga. Although I must say - for a popstar whose voice was such a big part of her appeal, Xtina's sales were never that impressive.

Katy is newer, more driven, has greater label support than Britney. You can't compare them. This is her prime. In her prime, even though it was a different period, Britney destroyed Katy.
