I disagree. In fact, Ke$ha might be the one MOST concerned with her image of the major pop girls besides Gaga (except for maybe Rihanna). Her party girl persona was carefully conceived, especially since it's now obvious that there is a lot more to her personality than that.

On another note, Gaga includes a lot of humor in her videos too. A lot of people just don't seem to pick up on her sense of humor. Dare I say that I think Gaga and Ke$ha have oddly similar senses of humor, as well?

It's also more than little bit interesting that Ke$ha not only decided she wants to incorporate more rock 'n' roll into this album, but is reaching back to a particular decade (70s) to build the entire sound of her album around. These similarities shouldn't be ignored. I'm not necessarily saying they should be attacked either, though.

Who gives a ****? seriously. At the end of the day, Ke$ha and GaGa are writing there own songs and using differrent producers, are on different labels, and aren`t involved with eachother in any way.

Not trying to get at you like the others (give him/her(?) a break, whatever ), but judging after my impression of Ke$ha having seen her interviews, shows, private videos etc. etc. and even only judging by their music, I think there ARE big differences between them as artists. I don't think that Ke$ha, as an artist, is taking a lot of influence from Lady Gaga in any way. I just don't think she does. It might rather be her record label who saw that Lady Gaga's concept (LP + EP + Remix album) was very successful, so they thought: why not try the same, it could work. So they might have talked to Ke$ha about it, she liked the idea as well and so they did it.

The idea to incorporate 70's rock'n'roll into the next album certainly came from her though imo and seems very genuine to me. She has always said that she loves this kind of music, listens to Iggy Pop, Led Zeppelin and Sabbath all the time etc. So that again must not have anything to do with Gaga's similar approach for BTW. They are to some extent just inspired by the same artists and musical genres I guess.

That's how I see the whole thing. I think Ke$ha draws the majority of her artistic influence from music and artists who were big in the 70's and 80's, and that the obvious similarites are more of an incident. But of course I can see why people would point out those similarities.

I guess what I note about it is that they are both influenced by similar groups of people and obviously like a lot of the same individuals. Ke$ha is sort of falling in Gaga's footsteps as far as moving away (maybe) from modern-sounding pop music to incorporate some of those elements from decades ago, particularly rock 'n' roll.

I hope she does it justice. It'll also be interesting to see what Dr. Luke is capable of in such situations. I think Ke$ha could last a long time in the industry as long as she doesn't let people disregard her because she comes out with lots of party songs.
