K$ and Gaga's music is way different so I don't see why it's that big of a deal.

I'd say it's a big deal because Ke$ha is EASILY the closest pop star to Gaga in terms of what they like and who they are influenced by. Videos like Ke$ha's for WWRWR clearly show Gaga influence, IMO. She not only uses product placement, but she uses it in the exact same way and in some cases, even with the same products as Gaga. She has the self-empowerment anthem, she has the cannibalistic song, Tik Tok was HUGELY compared to Just Dance in terms of the type of song and how each song was used to propel them to fame.
I don't necessarily think it's a big deal, but I see the influence there. I also think Ke$ha is someone to watch closely over the next few years.
It's also more than little bit interesting that Ke$ha not only decided she wants to incorporate more rock 'n' roll into this album, but is reaching back to a particular decade (70s) to build the entire sound of her album around. These similarities shouldn't be ignored. I'm not necessarily saying they should be attacked either, though.
