Those are shipped numbers. It has sold 3 million copies worldwide and 1.5 million copies a year after the initial release.

If there's anything wrong with the Christina stans on ATRL, it's their use of receipts and sources. The Coca Cola dome? Para Todas? I wish I bookmarked that foreign newspaper who claimed GaGa sold approximately 40 million albums.

On another music forum, some stan used a FACEBOOK group to prove how much an artist sold. No lie.

No of course it's not. The additional 2-3 million, not 9 million, are from the countries it's certified gold and platinum in. Silly Xtina fans.

Like I said, there are not so many sources available as you would like to think. Stanning for Christina is like stanning for Marilyn Monroe trying to find receipts for Marilyn's record sales. Just a random example. Her label isn't any help either, they're always contradicting themselves, but the things I stated in my first post comes reality the closest.

VH1 (and aslo several other reliable sources) said "...Baby One More Time" has sold well over 30 million. Do you honestly believe it did?

Don't know. I haven't researched that yet. RCA says it has shipped (no they even say sold) 6 million copies worldwide, so I can only assume it has to be right. I do know though that "The Christmas Song" from the album was a Top20 hit on the Billboard Hot100.
Well, here's another site with some sales figures from Christina, although that one doesn't look very reliable.

Here are her confirmed US sales (not including Bionic or Burlesque, which don't really matter):
8,207,000, "Christina Aguilera," 1999
4,234,000, "Stripped," 2002
1,691,000, "Back to Basics," 2006
963,000, "My Kind of Christmas," 2000
480,000, "Mi Reflejo," 2000
304,000, "Keeps Getting Better," 2008
128,000, "Just Be Free," 2001 (an unauthorized collection of early demo recordings)
Source: http://www.billboard.com/#/column/ch...04054542.story
Now you tell me where those additional 31.8 million albums came from.

Those are not new, not updated, but totally correct sales figures from 2009 or 2010, I'm not sure right now. It's a normal thing that international superstars like Christina is, sell more albums and single in Europe and other countries than they do in the US. She would have to be a country artist if not, so I don't see anything wrong there.

The album was released in Late August 1999. On the 2000-2009 decade chart, it's ranked #62 with sales of approximately 9 million. Are you really trying to say that it sold 8 million during its first four months of release? We're talking about an album that hit:
- #1 in 2 countries
- Top 10 in 4 countries
- Top 20 in 8 countries
- Top 40 in 12 countries
- Top 60 in 14 countries
* Failed to chart elsewhere
It's hardly believable that it sold 17 million with album and single sales combined.
