Yeah I'm hoping You and I turns out to be the 2nd biggest hit (after BTW) this era. That would be cool and I reckon she could do it with a nice video and an epic performance.

Gaga has never been the queen of the Hot 100, so it'd be nice if some people (you) would stop using that as the standard to judge her by. Her absolutely colossal singles Just Dance and Poker Face, 2 of the 3 best-selling singles of the digital era only earned a combined 3 weeks at #1. I mean, let's face it: sure Poker Face was MASSIVE, but it got completely stomped in the US by Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling.
Fast forward to her next truly memorable single release, Bad Romance. That song got obliterated by Tik Tok. Born This Way reigns with a domination she has never had (for whatever reason you want to attribute it to) and all you people do is complain about the era. The fact is, the only mistakes she's made this era are the mistakes her fans BEGGED her to. She released Judas because EVERYONE bitched endlessly about the next Bad Romance and I'm sure her label thought that there would be a market for it. The Edge of Glory video was a disaster, but it was a disaster that I saw everyone on this website begging for for weeks.
In the end, she has never had the chart control of a Katy Perry. Adding Selena Gomez into the picture is pathetic and foolish. I'm sure next you'll be claiming Kidz Bop evidences her decline because they debuted higher than her album's current position? I mean, at some point you have to realize that she's sold 4 million copies of her album WW, produced 3 top 10 hits, 2 very successful singles and continues to maintain a control over pop culture that few, if any, artists this generation have.

You're not telling me anything in this post that I don't know, or that (bolded) I haven't said numerous times in this thread about the Dr Luke girls. I know Gaga's chart history through and through, and because she's an open book and we stalk her every move and her music comes from her, I know Gaga through and through and can anticipate her stumbles weeks, months, a year before they happen.
I wasn't saying it to be negative. Some humble pie will be good for her. She's not God's savior to pop.

The littles of monsters: Cockroaches shake their six legs for Lady Gaga music, high schoolers find
Cockroaches love to jitterbug to Lady Gaga.
Four city teens experimenting on roaches discovered that the pop diva's songs get the pests to shake a leg more so than any others.
The high-school students - Dumichel Harley, 15; Bobby Zhou, 16; Flora Tan, 17; and Allen He, 17 - have spent the summer at Cooper Union studying engineering and the movements of the creepy critters.
Their experiments involved attaching circuits and electrodes to the roaches in order to remotely control their paths. But the whiz kids hit a wall when the bugs got used to the electric pulses after a few seconds and stopped responding - a process called habituation.
That's when they went to Gaga.
"We needed a more random stimulus to keep the roaches moving, so we tried using music," said Harley, 15, a rising junior at Regis High School on the upper East Side.
The teens first experimented with the music of punk-pop band Weezer, and then with heavy-metal group Avenged Sevenfold. Neither genre put the roaches in the right groove. But the "Poker Face" singer got their shells shaking.
"The bass in Gaga's song 'Bad Romance' prevented habituation since it's not consistent," Harley said.
Prof. Robert Uglesich said the budding scientists chose the project on their own.
"They were really passionate about it," Uglesich said. "They spent an entire day designing camps for the roaches before they arrived."
The teens named each roach individually, calling their first one "Sir Walter Raleigh." Some even considered taking the critters home.
"In a sense, you could say that they're our pets," said Harley. "We're all very comfortable working with them."

I hope Lady Gaga is happy to hear that she has even littler monster fans than she ever anticipated.

Real Time this week, inside the top 40. Definitely happy this is catching on but I don't want this to bulldoze to a quick peak like the first 3 singles did.

To put it bluntly, how is she not?
Sure, maybe she needed something like Judas to flop, but the fact of the matter is she IS the savior of pop. She brought life to the genre again, she brought interest to performance. She highlighted the importance, or at least brought an appreciation, for talent in an industry that is now characterized by producers rather than musicians.
She released a video that quite literally revived the MV as an art form and a point of public interest. She brought electronic dance to the forefront of pop and showed that it is still possible, whether people like it or not, to tackle societal issues with pop music. She refuses to return or stay in the days of Just Dance because she wants more for pop music.
But more than all of that, she is truly a savior of pop culture. People can hate her music, they can hate her image, they can hate her association with the gays and they can hate her arrogance, but the fact is, they know about it and feel something towards it. She forced people to care about pop music. She forced people to care about the music video. She forced her contemporaries to worry about fashion and message. She turned the music industry and pop culture upside down and made them follow her, and for that, she is the savior of pop music and pop culture in the 00s.
