I don't think Cheers is going to hit #1 on digital songs, although I will be pleasantly surprised if it does. It just faces tough competition from Lighters and soon Someone Like You. That doesn't mean #1 on the Hot 100 is out of the question though. She still has her (soon to be huge) airplay to fall back on, although honestly, if LFN couldn't do it without a remix, neither could Cheers, I would think.

LFN was blocked by PRA. Now Lighters and Moves Like Jagger will block it. Cheers is just starting, and i can not see any songs will block Cheers. Moves Like Jagger and Lighters will be #1, till Cheers come. Cheers can be #1 so easily. If Rihanna perform it, nothing can stop Cheers from being #1

LFN lacked something cheers has going for it and thats UNIVERSAL APPEAL. This song could be a ****ing ANTHEM for drinking as opposed to yet another party song. I can see every man , woman of whatever age jamming to this song.

They are basically the same song in concept.

"Cheers" will be #1 I think, though. If not it'll be due to lack of promo with her being on tour.

yeah but the mainstream appeal comes from the sound and vibe of the song...TGIF is kinda a fruity bubblegum song while cheers is just a song u can vibe to. When my friends hear TGIF on the radio they ask me to turn it off almost immediately.

Meanwhile...MLJ has finally gotten to me (i've owned the song since it hit itunes, but it wasn't until my run today that it came on my shuffle and i started jammin out...I haven't liked xtina in a song since marmalade I love her in this song though even though she only has a 20 second part. Maroon 5 kills it though just a fun catchy pop song that I don't need to be ashamed of enjoying (unlike most of my pop songs )

I think Someone Like You could easily block Cheers and every other song from hitting #1. It's ahead of Cheers on iTunes with such low and rapidly growing AI.

Someone Like You wasn't sent to radios yet but Cheers is growing up so fast. Someone Like You will be sent to radios at the end of August. So it'll not block Cheers.

She's had several promotional spots on television and a performance video which is also promo. I could care less if Cheers hits #1. I want top 3 though.
