CKB "underperformed" rather than flopped...top 40 was a blessing though b/c I thought it wasn't gonna make it

MD was a top 10 urban hit but urban listeners don't usually buy singles they are an album audience. MD barely had any pop support

After 3 number 1 singles, a 37 peak, and a 59 peak on the BB100 definitely indicates a flop. Not in the regular definition (well at least not for CKB) but for a Rihanna single, definitely a flop.

for rihanna...i guess you could say they did (i have definitely been guilty of calling both flops). However, it had a lot of things going against it (it being the whole dual release MESS)

California King Bed has sold well for doing so poorly on radio. No one expected Man Down to do amazing, & it did alright for an urban single.

They said numerous times they don't care about chart performance and how much it sells. They are just putting an rap album out. I guess they meant it cause if Lift Off was released first, it would be sitting at #1 right now
