That doesn't matter. If she wins an album category (i.e Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album), then "Someone Like You" will be ineligible for everything except Record of the Year, and by 2013 Grammys, it may be forgotten. She will most likely slay 2012 Grammys instead. "Rolling in the Deep" will be submitted everywhere.
Sooo if we can win even one more Grammy by waiting to release SLY, and RITD will be submitted en lieu of SLY this year, what's the point of releasing it now at all? In the winter it would get all those old folks to get out of their homes and drive to their local Walmart to buy a copy of the album for little Janie for her birthday or for their Xmas party.

Because the public is pushing and buying "Someone Like You." Where is "Set Fire to the Rain" on iTunes and radio?
Gotcha. Interscope should do that for Telephone to get it over 3x Platinum.
Right? I mean, sometimes these things are reallllly easy to notice and they do work. Like, Hot N Cold was discounted to 69 cents and it was about 200k away from 5 million, and now it's even closer and will prolly get there by the end of the year.

Well, last week or so Set Fire to the Rain was actually higher than SLY. The rest of the difference only recently started because of US radio stations feeling safe playing the song that sold a million copies in the UK. I can't really blame them, though. It's a definite single choice.
"Set Fire to the Rain" got a push because it was used in like two promos, but "Someone Like You" has been above it for most of the year now. I personally would have picked "Set Fire to the Rain" over it, but it makes perfect sense why SLY is the chosen second single. It helps that the song is becoming or has already become huge elsewhere. "Set Fire to the Rain" isn't performing as well as RITD or SLY in the UK.

If she smashes with SLY, I'm positive she will smash with SFTTR. Its looking like SLY and Cheers may battle it out for a #1 in the fall ( or this is what i'm hoping). However, Adele is turning into a damn monster everywhere and every other artist should beware because she s coming for wigs single by single and it's a great sight to see
I showed it to a few friends and they absolutely loved it. Maybe because they're wannabe hoodrats from California but still. Even straight males can (kind of?) respect this song.
