To me, she seems a lot more herself with this era. Compare the interviews now to the interviews during The Fame era - she seems a lot more open now and she has her walls up less. She's said so many times how she was insecure back in those days - and it definitely showed in her interviews when she would act like a bitch but it was a defense mechanism. I see her smile and laugh a whole lot more than I did back in The Fame era - which perplexes me when people say stuff like "She used to have fun."Just because she's not wearing colors anymore doesn't mean she isn't having fun and is this depressed, serious girl.
And honestly, why would she purposely do or say things that her "fans" that loved her TF image dislike? Why would she continue to do these things even AFTER her "fans" complained about the things she was doing or saying? She's not gaining anything from losing fans, so I don't understand. Perhaps this is where she ultimately wanted to be at in her career?
If anything, she's lightened up compared to her Fame era interviews. She was pretty much stubborn and would snap at some journalists.
