Yeah but the difference is that MTV doesn't seem to count nominations or wins for featured artists. If you look here (
http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/multiple-winners.jhtml), you'll see that Beyoncé's wins do not include the Best Collaboration award that "Telephone" won, even though it should since it
is an award for collabos, but I digress... Also, the press releases for the 2010 VMA nods only counted 13 nods for Gaga, which meant that they didn't count the "Video Phone" ones for her.
It's probably the same thing for Bruno Mars: since "Nothin' on You" is B.o.B's video, then its nods don't count for Bruno, which makes him eligible for BNA. Mumford & Sons, meanwhile, do have one previous nomination for one of their own videos... Plus, it really doesn't seem fair to me to disqualify someone from BNA simply because he was featured on
one song by somebody else before his first album came out. But that's just me...
