Effeminate gays here in my country stare you down deep to the depths of loins. Kind of scary.

Wouldn't the flamboyant guy want or desire the opposite type of guy? I always thought that was fascinating. Why not just be with a woman then if you're both flamboyant? An effeminate gay guy needs to be with a more masculine gay guy. Isn't that in the handbook or somethin'?

Effeminate man =/= actual woman. Come on, now. That's like drawing the conclusion that a heterosexual man dating a tomboy defeats the purpose of being straight.

My problem with them is that they're more feminine then girls sometimes. My bf is flamboyent and it bugs me so much. His excuse for everything is "I'm gay!" but so the **** what? I'm gay and I don't wear booty shorts to school, I don't wear pink shirts that say "Delicious" on them, i don't purposely try to look gay when i go outside, I don't purposely look for rainbow stuff to wear, I don't paint my nails for fun....this **** goes on and on. I mean I love spending time with him, but he's just too much. So that's my problem with them lol
In other words, I'm not defined by being gay, but his life is defined by being gay. It's something I don't understand.

I have respect for them in the sense that they can walk outside, wearing short shorts, tight clothing, make up, etc... But that's not my style (just like how I don't like the baggy jeans style, over sized shirt, etc).

But I read a post on here, I believe it was from the member, inspiration, who made an interesting point. He said that it is the over-the-top, flamboyant, effeminate, gay-pride-marchin', drag queen type of gay guy that makes it possible for society to more easily an openly accept the "normal gay guy." Thanks to that feminine "extreme" the public embraces the other half of the spectrum with an ease. So, "normal gay guys" owe a lot to the "over-the-top," "we-were-born-this-way" type of gay guy.
I thought it was an interesting point.

Some of these comments are so wrong, but anyway...
I'm not attracted to girly gays. My first boyfriend was incredibly effeminate and it got on my nerves. He was too peppy and off the walls and everything he said had to have 500 hand movements and I just could not deal.

Some people are extremely proud of what they are though, and I guess he's one of them. My best friend, from China (living in Canada) is so proud that she's Chinese she's always reminding everyone where she's from, always talks about how great her food is, always playing Chinese music, etc.

What the **** is a normal gay? DEFINE IT?
Those abnormal gays are the ones at pride, pushing gay agendas, and actually bettering the gay community.
Closeted, bisexual gays trying to blend in with "normal" society are the reason we will stay behind.

Woah. That's actually very true.
But I think the "normal" gays should be more supportive of the "over-the-top" gays if homosexuality is ever going to be accepted.

Haha if she's anything like how my bf is, that must be painful at times.

And what reputation is that? Is there something wrong with femininity and flamboyance? You are feeding into the discrimination

I'm pretty effeminate. I mean I don't use the word "FABULOUS!!" and I'm not really into theater, but I have a lot of feminine tendencies. Based on the way y'all on this website type I'd read most of you as effeminate as well...
But I think it's wrong to hold how effeminate or masculine some one is against them. They were born that way

Well, you can just assume that, I can assure you most of them are not trying to blend in with society, some of them just aren't ready.
