I don't know how to explain it but I guess it's because I can play both and like both equally. They're both amazing from start to finish, just in different ways. They're like yin and yang and I don't see how, if they're both opposites, you could dislike one and like the other.

Over the years, I have admired Rihanna's beauty, personality, and music. I have always been a fan, but never fully stanned for her... until today, that is. A year ago, my cousin's grandmother was hospitalized due to a tumor. I was never good at comforting people, so I recommended that she should listen to the Rihanna album Rated R, as it has helped me feel better in sad situations. About couple of month later, she had told me that her grandmother was released from the hospital and was the picture of health.
Today, one year after her grandmother was hospitalized, she called me (which I wasn't expecting since we aren't that close). It was the typical "Hey, whats up?" conversation, but then she thanked me for recommending her to listen to Rated R. She told me that the album had got her through a tough time and that she didn't know where she should be without it.
Rihanna's music has had such a positive impact on a family member, I just feel like I owe her so much.

As a stanbase, the Rihanna stans have great personalities and seem like an overall nice group of people from the posts I've read around the forum.

In Rated R, we all know the only line she wrote was the one line in Rude Boy's bridge and for the most of the tracks, she gave the idea of what she wanted in the song and let's see how the credits look like.
She was credited, even only minimally and her name appears on the last of the people credited.
She was not credited at all in Loud because she did not contribute AT ALL.
Check your facts hun.

|
Sis, you don't get credited for telling someone to make a song for you about drifting apart from a partner. That's not enough.

Aww, that's so touching. I'm glad your Grandmother's better, and it was so nice of you to console her while she was sick.

I just checked the credits of that album and as expected, her name appears last on the credits.

I didn't see it and I'm not going to look at the videos to compare the possible situations. Let's just move on.

I'm not a stan, I'm just a casual listener.
So it's confusing as **** why Who's That Chick? isn't on Loud as Track 12 (or Track 11, with the Eminem duet pushed back one). She shot two freaking videos for it, and it charted everywhere.
I actually thought Who's That Chick was Single #3 until I actually got the album lol, then I felt cheated. It's not like All of the Lights, which is clearly a Kanye West song -- Who's That Chick is Rihanna-only, it's not even particularly Guetta-fied.
It's actually sad she's not performing it on tour. I guess she doesn't like her own song. Not very cool imo.

How does that not make it calculated or generic? Nothing on Loud is new or fresh. Every song is bland as hell.

"What's My Name?" sounds just like "Te Amo" or a more mellow "Rude Boy".
Everything on that album is generic. There's a reason it got ****** reviews.

Jennifer why do you refuse to spill false in whatever thread you step into?

I'm reading that Who's That Chick was originally on Loud, and Def Jam even played it during their listen-through sessions with journalists. So what the hell went wrong?

No one knows for sure but my theory is that Guetta produced it for Loud and they took it off at the last minute and he put it on the One Love re-release instead of completely getting rid of it. They took a lot of the upbeat songs they had for Loud off for ballads. I don't know why.

Because an album without ballads is an album without substance. Ballads are more respectable then upbeat songs. Besides Rihanna needed a ballad hit, and CKB was supposed to be that, but i think we all know how that's turning out.
