My dad has a **** load of respect for gags, because she writes her stuff, sings amazing, and stands up for the gay community. My mom absolutely hated her but over a year of rehab she's a little monster (not as much as me though). She went to a Gaga concert with her co-workers while I went with my best friend.
My mom loved P!nk way before I did, my dad doesn't really mind her. My mom and dad both don't like Kylie, but my Mom is just pressed because she's prettier than her fave the dinosaur.
As for Mayday Parade... they don't know them at all. They both hate Ke$ha and my mom loves Britney :P
My parents roll their eyes at Britney Spears and think she's a mess (not kidding). They don't know who Katy Perry is, I doubt they know who Rihanna is. They say Gaga is talented and they know a lot of her songs. My dad's favorite is Alejandro
And I don't talk to my parents at all about pop stars or anything, so they have unbiased opinions.
My siblings (who I also don't talk to about it) think Rihanna is the biggest pop star on the planet, as she's heard on every track on radio and performs a lot on television. They like Katy. They think Gaga is weird and has slipped a lot this era. "I thought you said she was going to have another huge song bigger than Bad Romance???" I always get **** for hyping up this album before I heard it :-/
I don't think my Mum really knows what "stanning" is, but if she did, she would definitely be a Beyonce stan. She loves Beyonce so much, haha. My Dad also likes Beyonce, too.
My Mum and Dad both like Rihanna. My Mum went to Rihanna's concert with me and my Dad saw the end of the concert when he was waiting to pick us up. They both said it was awesome.
My Mum knows who Nicki Minaj is, but I think she just recognises the name and not what Nicki actually does. My Dad doesn't know who Nicki is.
My Mum and my Dad don't like Lady GaGa. I won't go into what they describe GaGa as, but they don't like her.
My Dad's favourite is probably Metallica. He loves them, haha.
Oh, and my Mum also loves Robbie Williams. Our family name is "Williams", so when Robbie came to Australia saying he was looking for Mrs. Williams, my Mum was like "I AM MRS. WILLIAMS!!!!" Hahaha.
My mom loves TF/TFM GaGa. She hates Born This Way & most of the songs on it. She says GaGa is trying too hard now. She loves Rihanna, her music & thinks she's beautiful. She doesn't care for Beyoncé's music but thinks she is beautiful as well.
Her opinion on people that aren't exactly my faves: She sings along to Katy but is not a big fan, & she absolutely can NOT stand Ke$ha, & especially Britney Spears. She kind of makes a face when either of them come on.
My mom likes Jordin and Leona. She loves their ballads.
She also like some of Xtina's songs especially Beautiful.
She keeps on dragging Gaga (my sis likes Gaga).
And I think she loves Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift.

Actually my parents don't like today's music that much. They don't even know popular songs from biggest artists. All they do just criticize artists looks and personal lifes

My mother rarely ever mentions Rihanna. The only time we ever discuss Rihanna is when she performs on award shows. My mom does like several Rihanna songs ("Pon De Replay", "Don't Stop The Music", "Disturbia", etc.) and works out to them occasionally. She did, at one point, ask me if Rihanna was born a man, as she appears to be a transsexual. But I took it as a compliment. Oh, and she is very quick to make forehead or live vocal jokes.
As for Britney, well, she absolutely hates her and thinks that she is a talentless ****, and refuses to go to the Femme Fatale Tour with me. Anytime a Britney song or mention comes on the radio/television, she rolls her eyes and is ready to smash the damn thing.
My mum said that one time too. I remember that i got really mad that i even tried to drag my mum for her cellulite, also said that she herself looks like a tranny (LOL, i know that it's not true) and then didn't talk with her for some time
