I think she should do the opposite of what she did for Loud with this album.
Release the R&B/Pop crossover smash as the first rerelease single. Release the album. Then, after the R&B/Pop crossover peaks, release the next dance-pop smash.
The opposite of OG/WMN?

Basically, since Rihanna seems set on the "same era, new music" thing, why not ensure Loud to be her best selling album, and one of the best selling albums in recent times? Since an EP will chart separately in the US, and therefore sales won't be combined, why not do a rerelease this Holiday season?
LoudR - released Nov 2011, include 4 new songs to carry out through Spring 2012.
Loud(est) - 2nd rerelease, released in Spring/Summer 2012, include 4 new songs, coincide with Battleship release
Yes, it's a bit shady, and may be a little desperate...but why not? There's no rules against having 2 rereleases, correct? Doing so will guarantee Loud to sell at least 3 mill in the US, and I'm sure push it to at least 8 million worldwide.

Hm.
I might be here for this.

And plus Rihanna never said she was doing a EP, nor a re release. Who knows? She might be doing something new. It could just simply be a "REPACKAGING". A repackaged album, is an album that contains new songs as well as some of the tracks from the original disc to create a new album. It's not an EP because the new tracks are not on a seperate disc, nor is it a re-release seeing as there are alterations to the original.

What would the purpose of that be? Doesn't alterations to the original content automatically make it ineligible to chart the same in the US? It'd be like combining the cons of both a rerelease and an EP, and making the worst decision possible.

No. it wont harm the chances of the sales being grouped. Why not just take the best of Loud Standard Edition (take out the little fillers) and add say 4 or 5 new tracks and make a solid new disc. It's much better. It would be like a traditional re release (GGGB) but the tracklist will just be altered. The US will undoubtedly have to count the album as the same as most of the tracks will still be from the original. it would be like a deluxe edition minus some old songs. it's much better and also prevents it from being labeled her "6th album".
Plus I want her to take a break after Loud. Come Back 2013 as a new Rihanna. I want her dancing more and vocally stronger. Give her time to get her hand in writing and producing. That's where she lacks most. I would rather do without her for 6 months knowing that i will be getting top notch music and performances soon.
Plus when i say 2013 I dont mean like 1 full year. Granted it would onloy be 8 months at most seeing as the new release and era will stretch way into Summer 2012. She can come back in Spring 2013.
