I agree.
But I think they made a mistake by doing a dual release.

Man Down was a mistake from the start, except for the video.

It has 30 million going for it from Urban which will likely continue to increase, but if it can get spins on Pop, it will increase in sales as well. I mean look at how well CKB is doing digitally with it's severely low AI.
Also, did everyone forget that aside from this one day, MD's updates have for the most part been better than CKB's. One day of increasing isn't going to save the song's performance.
Ultimately, within the next few days an ultimatum should be reached. I think if CKB goes back to decreasing tomorrow, then the song will peak around its current area. However, if it gets gradual increases (which I really have yet to see), then I will stop being so doubtful.
Plus digitally CKB has been constantly up and down up and down up and down I mean the song took almost a month to get out of the 40's and now it's looking like it has stalled yet again in the 30's

California King Bed has gotten some negative updates but none as severe as Man Down's negative updates on urban. It worries me that Man Down was able to get ahead of CKB so quickly, yet it also managed to fall quicker. At least CKB is still on a solid foundation.

well yeah, I can agree with that...But I find it equally concerning that CKB is not really moving at all...I mean Pop is Rihanna's format...she usually has no problem here but CKB is really not showing any signs of skyrocketing any time soon. I think the main reason I'm for MD is that. There is nothing to lose. Pop formats eat Rihanna alive usually, and if they start spinning MD, digital sales will follow. It won't matter if CKB can crack top 30 on Itunes if the song can't get proper AI increases on a format that Rihanna usually slays. Not only that, but CKB has been sent to other formats and hasn't really impacted. If pop doesn't touch CKB, no one will

I just don't see Man Down doing good on pop at all, & it would make this single release look even more messy than it already is. They should continue to push California King Bed, since it's already sitting nicely within the Top 40 of US iTunes. Radio is the only thing CKB needs help with at this point.
I agree that they should've gone with Cheers though.

Yeah...I guess I'll just wait a few more days and see how things go with CKB before making these drastic decisions DX
and exactly, if Cheers had been released @ the time that CKB was, I feel like it would be top 10 by now. It was the ideal summer choice

I think the fact that CKB is so high on iTunes (and has been there for a month or two) with 16 million AI holds some weight. I'm waiting on the day that CKB just explodes on radio, but I've been waiting on that for weeks and I'll probably have to keep waiting.

I'm hoping.
CKB is one of my favorites off of Loud, and I would love to see it blow up.

Big time, dual release wasn't the most clever move.

Just one more performance is all it needs.

Just wanted to stop in and say I've been hearing California King Bed on my local pop stations lately.
So the patience had for this song will end up being worth it.

SYTYCD, 106&Park, Ellen (correct me if I'm wrong, she hasn't done Ellen yet this era?), & she should perform it on AGT when the live shows start.

Boston is probably higher on the radio priority list.

I would just like to say, I really like how some Britney stans have come in here to cheer us up. I didn't know they were so nice!

No, she hasn't been on Ellen with red hair yet. And may I ask what is AGT?
