I don't think she'll go back to the RR days Which sucks because I still jam to G4L, Wait Your Turn, RR, Hard, Rude Boy, Firebomb and Photographs...I legit listened to the whole album on the LIRR today b/c I was bored of all my music (I never get bored of Rated R)

What I love about the album is that it is entirely emotional from beginning to end, but it isn't just "feel sorry for me"/sadness. I actually feel like Rated R is more anger than it is sorrow, and that's why I enjoy it. You can listen to it and have no pity upon her, because she isn't a victim in the album to me...it's more of her confused as to whether or not she should be angry or sad

Pop formats have had their chance and they are playing S&M over CKB (at least it seems that way whenever I'm in the car)...there really is no other place for CKB on radio. There is a small chance that MD can cross over to pop (it seems to have run its course on Urban) and there can be a small opportunity to salvage this mess of a dual release.

So yes, I think "abandoning" CKB would be wise

I agree, it' was undeniably the best choice.

Perfect for Rihanna's voice, perfect for the Loud era introduction, worldwide commercial appeal, fantastically produced. Very worthy of a grammy.


Also I agree that it's probably time to send MD over to pop to see how it fairs. CKB has had it's chance, the public aren't here for it in a big way. I'm not surprised, it simply wasn't commercial enough.

If Man Down is already decreasing on the format it most catered to, that doesn't look good for it's likelihood to succeed on a format it's not as friendly to.

Like I said, there's a small chance it CAN crossover. It's better than being ecstatic and thinking there is hope for CKB after it has 4 days of decreases then 1 day of .111 increase in AI. CKB was not planned well AT ALL. I honestly don't know what the label was thinking; this song has little appeal for radio ESPECIALLY in the summer (not shading/hating on the song, but like complicated and skin which are both gold, they are not single worthy)

Said it before, and I'll say it again. It should've been Cheers, but now we're stuck until the rih-release single. And some pop stations are playing MD. It's time to cut CKB's losses and go for at least 1 top 20 hopefully with MD. If not, both songs will likely peak no higher than 40/35 on the hot 100, and that's horrendous given the previous 3 #1 hits

I think Man Down should be totally dropped. It's doing nothing but decrease now. California King Bed is still increasing, both digitally & on radio. It's not over yet.

Man Down slays regardless of what urban radio thinks. They weren't ready.

Does no one realize that urban listeners rarely buy digital singles? Look at motivation w/ its 60+ AI and yet it can't even crack top 20 on Itunes. It has 30 million going for it from Urban which will likely continue to increase, but if it can get spins on Pop, it will increase in sales as well. I mean look at how well CKB is doing digitally with it's severely low AI.

Also, did everyone forget that aside from this one day, MD's updates have for the most part been better than CKB's. One day of increasing isn't going to save the song's performance.

Ultimately, within the next few days an ultimatum should be reached. I think if CKB goes back to decreasing tomorrow, then the song will peak around its current area. However, if it gets gradual increases (which I really have yet to see), then I will stop being so doubtful.

Plus digitally CKB has been constantly up and down up and down up and down I mean the song took almost a month to get out of the 40's and now it's looking like it has stalled yet again in the 30's

You guys please dont give up on CKB. I believe the public really enjoys this song.. look at how great it is doing on itunes with little airplay. It is getting positive updates spin wise, which means we should request to the bigger stations. So please navy dont give up
