I'm sorry there's absolutely no shade but if this is thanks to Xtina's stans, why the hell didn't they support her own song, NMT ?

I laugh when people try to deny Xtina's part to the success of the song. This isn't 2010 anymore. I will 100% agree with the people who'll say it's not because of Christina only that MLJ is #1 on iTunes, but I sure as hell will disagree with the ones who'll say it would still be #1 without her. Because that would explain why Maroon 5's last single was that huge hit, right? We Xtina fans are the ones who kept trending and promoting the song, even the last episode of The Voice recognized us. I've been noticing for a while that our fanbase is getting stronger. I may be proven wrong when her next album comes out, but for now, I have nothing else to tell me otherwise.
The Voice + Maroon 5 + Christina are the 3 main reasons for MLJ's current success and each one of them were/are fundamental.

I really love Xtina but you cant say the song wouldn't be #1 w/o her, seriously you just cannot say this.

No shade intended my ass! Chrissy's a huge factor that the song is currently #1 on iTunes, but the difference is that this time around there is proper promotion and the general public likes generic summer stuff like this more.

This song can still be #1 without her. It's catchy as hell, it has a good beat and it had good exposure with The Voice. Xtina did play a factor in sales but they could have easily done that without her.

Why does my opinion affect you though, if you think otherwise with such conviction like you own the truth? I may be wrong, but I have concrete reasons to think that way.

Oh yeah and I also remember that before the song was even out (NMT), y'all were like "This is Xtina we talkin bout' guys, she will be #1 with no promo thanks to her voice".
No, seriously you do not even have some real arguments there...
"the general public likes generic summer stuff like this more."
*DEAAAAAAAAAAAD*, like seriously u ain't saying NMT isn't a commercial are u ? Cuz the goal was OBVIOUSLY to pull out the most commercial song ever in order to be everywhere on radios, tv...

I can certainly agree with your opinion. And thank you for at least admit that, like you said, Xtina did play a factor in sales.

Xtina has a loyal fan base but this song isn't number one BECAUSE of her 20second vocals on this song. This song has amazing lyrics great for the summer and a crazy beat to it. It may not have gone to number 1 asap on itunes, but it would be there regardless with or without her.

LOL of course I also think so, right ? I DO AGREE that Xtina helped, but not THAT MUCH as y'all r saying. Yes she did help a bit I guess, but please don't tell me more than 30% (I would even say 20%~) of all the buyers are her stans...

First of all, NMT is an urban R&B pop gem for your information.
Secondly, you clearly are trying to hate, because right now Chrissy's sitting at #1 on iTunes, is the main star on the season's most successful new show "The Voice" and enjoying herself, while a certain worldwide superstar on your avie has difficulties to sell her new album and single. (I love her though)
And last but not least we all have given pretty decent arguments, while probably it's your personal dislike for the artist that leads you to not take these as real arguments.

I actually think that, yes, and you can call me delusional all you want.
Sorry if I came a little too disrespectful. I admit I was wrong when I said that MLJ wouldn't get to #1 if it wasn't for her, but I still believe it wouldn't have the great initial success if it weren't for us. Of course, now the general public is finding more about the song, and yeah, it's a great summer jam, so I believe it will get even more success when the radio picks up. Just don't try to deny Xtina's part. Because it did matter.
