13 -1 Lady GaGa - The Fame Monster
24 -1 Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
I just can't
do you think that debuting and mantain at least 1 week on the Billboard Hot 100, even if it's only in the 100th position, is a achievement?
I mean, there are thousands of songs fighting for being #01, and entering at least at #100 it's cool, cuz it means the song surpassed all the others..
so It's the same in iTunes, entering at least top 100 is achievement.
your thoughts?
I agree with you ! Every week tons of songs are released and when charts come out the top 100 songs are chartered according to their digital sales and airplay so yeah it is an achievement. Also if you think about it the Hot 100 is composed of the Top 100 songs of ALL genres of music so debuting on the charts is indeed an achievement.
Now that being said debuting at #100 and staying there for 1 week is not a big achievement. The higher you chart and the longer you chart is what judges your achievement as big or small just my opinion...
1 Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) 1.0000
2 LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (feat. Lauren Bennett & GoonR... 0.8527
3 Pitbull - Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & N... 0.7750
Of course it is. Especially Rock/Alternative/Latin songs Not so much for huge Pop Artist tho.
Yup, the radio panels for those songs are so small that they would need to cross over in other more popular formats (like Pop/HAC/AC) and/or perform great digitally in order to chart on the Hot 100. In recent times, the only alternative/rock bands that have charted in the Top 20 of the Hot 100 are Neon Trees, and Coldplay.
not that i know of yet, i wonder if they will do one though, i mean look at someone like you. it smashed for weeks just off one performance in the uk. they should do one for the US though
