I've always loved her, and GGGB has and always will slay me, but she was (for lack of a better word) generic back then. There wasn't a whole lot that set her apart from all of the other female artists, other than her voice and the whole "I'm from Barbados" thing. She didn't have much of a unique style, and her hair was the only thing that really made her different. She was forced into Beyoncé's shadow during that time by the media, haters, and even some fans. As a stan, I would never want GGGB (or even Rated R) Rihanna to come back. She has shown so much artistic growth over the years, and she is now a household name. Her music, videos, voice, and style have evolved, and to want the "old" her to come back would be incredibly selfish and silly. And even though I hated Loud for a couple of months, I don't think GGGB is better than it. Most of GGGB could have been recorded by almost any female artist, whereas Loud is a Rihanna record. Both albums have their bland/generic moments, but Loud is the stronger album to me. I think the main reason that Loud is disliked by so many is because it was released after Rated R, which is widely considered to be her best album to date. Even a Rated R Part 2 would pale in comparison to Rated R, in my opinion. People are always teasing Rihanna for releasing new music yearly, but I am so happy she does. It proves that she really cares about her fans, and wants us all to be satisfied. She has never been the type to keep us waiting for years for new music, as she sees no reason to. If anybody is against a re-release, they don't have to listen to it. It's that simple. We will never get another "Umbrella". We will never get another "Rude Boy". But that's what being a stan is all about; enjoying the eras while they last, being a little critical at times, and most importantly supporting the artist no matter what.

THANK YOU! GGGB is so ****ing overrated! Holy ****! Loud is the perfect album. Truly amazing. And I would never want Rihanna to take a step backward.

RudeBoy get over Fire Bomb. It wouldnt have done well anyway. I love it, but when I think about it, it would not have done well. LTWYL would have overshadowed it.

Umbrella, Dont Stop The Music, Take A Bow & Disturbia are some of the greatest things so ever happen to pop music so no, Good Girl Gone Bad is not overated.
Saying a previous album is better is in no way an insult. It's like that one major album that got you respect, Good Girl Gone Bad is like Kellys Breakaway, Avrils Let Go etc

I love the red hair but it's time for a change.

The rerelease will not be much different from Loud, probably. They are going to play it safe most likely, putting a bunch of hit records on it.
I need this for her next album...
-Harder dance records, maybe more techno - producers like Afrojack, StarGate (of course), Skrillex, will.i.am, etc. Almost overwhelming. The beats need to continue to go further & harder.
-More urban records - producers like StarGate, Bangladesh, Kanye West, Polow da Don, Swizz Beatz. A perfect mix of r&b/pop/hip-hop. I need her to venture farther into hip-hop, & try to rap, preferably in her native accent.
-More ballads/mid-tempos, of course.

I really hope the re-release is a bit darker in terms of music style in contrast to Loud. The beats have to bassier and heavier.

I would have preferred it not charting anywhere in the world over releasing the most horrible recorded song ever "Rockstar 101".

I hear the same issues with our side of the camp. I think it's normal.

If Rihanna EVER collaborates with Dr Luke or RedOne I will boycott.
Disturbia & Umbrella are obviously amazing, but the other two are just as good as Only Girl & Man Down.

Her ballads are some of the best songs of her career. She will continue to do them & slay them accordingly.
Fading could've been a hit but it's too late for that now.

I really hope she switches the hair up for the re-release. I think we are all tired of the red hair now.

It was bad enough when she did a collabo with David Guetta.

LOUD is nowhere near as good as GGGB. You have to be on crack to say something like that. The latter was packed with hit singles and single worthy tracks. Loud is straight up filler aside from the first 3 singles + a couple album tracks.
Even the first 3 singles are generic as hell. "Only Girl"? It sounds exactly like "Sexy Bitch" or any David Guetta production really. "What's My Name" is just a "Te Amo" upgrade, but nothing special or exciting in any way shape or form.
Comparing them to something like "Umbrella", which is arguably the best pop song of the last 10 years is ridiculous. "Disturbia" is also on another level.

Umbrella & Disturbia are her BEST songs. FB & OG probably come third and fourth.
I hope this re-release isn't just 3 new songs.

Don't kill me, but listening to Umbrella now, I really dont love it that much. I mean I love it, but I feel that if it wasnt her biggest hit, it would not be recognized as such a great pop record, because it really isnt.
After months of listening, I think Only Girl (In the World) is her best record ever.
Its not generic. It just has a euro-pop sound, and there is nothing wrong with that. The production is her best ever, and it is an amazing song.

Rude Boy is the best song of her career. The production on that song is fresh and unique and it didn't like anything that was out of the time when it came out.

I don't feel like writing 3 pages on why GGGB will forever **** on LOUD right now. Maybe if I wasn't mobile I would but just get this straight. LOUD is so commercial and bland that it comes off safe and boring. At least GGGB had an edge to where it wasn't all that boring. LOUD is a mess. Besides OG, ManDown, CKB and maybe WMN everything on that album is dispossable. LOUD has zero anthems and none of the songs will be remembered as a classic. Maybe besides OG but other than that it's would never compare to the Classic hits of GGGB. GGGB was ahead of it's time. Besides Mandown, LOUD is nothing more than a bunch of boring generic radio friendly singles. The album is monotone compared to GGGB. GGGB was cohesive. LOUD is not. GGGB had anthems, classics and MEMORABLE songs. LOUD doesn't. Nobody will remember nothing about the LOUD era 10-20 years from now. The only thing that might be remembered about the LOUD era is rihanna's red hair. Everything else won't. The END.
