Rihanna was huge before being known as a bad bitch so it's not like she's right with that sentence, she did take her album's "Good Girl Gone Bad" name seriously tho
Sweetie i have every janet album. Do you even read the lyrics? Have you been to a show? Have you seen superbowl? Have you paid attention to the issues Janet has shed light on in her music? Research is a must sweetie.
I have every album of hers too, and everything else you mention in your post
Why? Let's keep it cute now will we? That woman is remembered for her tremendous voice, her flawless vocal technic and all that got destroyed because of her addiction.
Don't try to act like that's what makes her a legend, because it is what partially destroyed her status, she was already Whitney's IWIALY before we knew about her drugs problem, she was already the female singer with the most awards ever before we knew about her problems.
And @Monster, it's not even a question Celine and whitney are the very definition of POP music. And actually Celine barely ever did another genre.
im not shading whitney at all of course she is a tremendous talent...but Whitney is in no sense of the word a "good girl" that is all...her attitude is very in your face and brash and she's very unapologetic...
Why are ya'll acting like Rihanna is only popular because she's "unclassy" and "rude" . A bitch can't be herself, that's why all the celebrities go nuts.

But if we're talking about women who were able to attain massive popularity and leave their mark without being controversial, then Whitney definitely fits the bill. Her image was entirely wholesome throughout her active career.
You're not very familiar with what pop means. They are very much pop stars because they made POPULAR music.

Oh.... So i'm guessing anyone who makes popular music for the masses, who charts on any pop chart is a pop star. Interesting, I must say.
Many artists would disagree.
And there are so many women who validate it. What's your point?
I know there are women who validate it. But the fact that there are a LOT of women who invalidate it automatically makes it wrong, since it says "seldom." In fact outside of pop music most women who make history don't do it by being "badly-behaved bitches."
