Brit and Christina have had pretty much nothing to do with each since they came out in 1998, the VMA's and a couple of award show skits like 10 years ago? If Christina wanted to collaborate it would have happened then. Funny it's come up now when her music career is nowhere to be seen.

I admit I was a bit surprised when she mentioned Britney as one of the people she would like to collaborate with, but I don't think that has anything to do with how her music career "is" at the moment.
Christina's a pop artist, but she has always taken different directions when it comes to her choices both visually and musically. She has always had this thing about always wanting to be different and thinking out of the box.
Though lately I think that she has come to appreciate pop music,
mainstream music, and actually enjoy it. We fans have noticed that, while listening to her radio or seeing some playlists that she created for 'The Voice' promo. I think that's the reason why she would now like to collaborate with more popular artists like Britney or Justin or Beyoncé.
But that's just my take on this.
