Yesterday, 2 friends of mine texted me asking me why she was fired.
Only the start of her US Domination.
Like I said yesterday, all this publicity for the loss of the job >>>>>>> having the X Factor job itself. Cheryl be landing her name all over the media right now. I'm enjoying it.
You know, you've got a point. I think all this stuff is ingratiating her with the public once more; people are looking at her like a victim -- rightfully so. I mean, did these douche bags not HEAR her before they hired her?
I hope she doesn't take the gig with The Voice in the UK because I really want her to try and dominate in the US but I understand how all this might have left a really bitter taste in her mouth.
The rumors of Cheryl Cole being booted from the US "X Factor" judges' panel continue to run rampant, with no comment from Simon Cowell or FOX execs. One person who has spoken publicly about it is fellow judge Paula Abdul... who essentially had no idea what was going on. At a press event in Singapore, Abdul was asked about the judge shake-up, and she was as clueless as ever.
"This is all news to me, I was travelling you know, I'm fifteen hours ahead and apparently it has captured the news while I was travelling, I am just finding out things as you are," she says. "I don't know any information, I don't know whether or not it's true. You probably know more than I do."
She does, however, counter rumors that a lack of chemistry between them was part of the reason Cole was ousted. "All I can tell you is that she is lovely, and I was really excited about the relationship and friendship we were forging and regardless I am looking forward to continuing with that. She's wonderful," she says.
Meanwhile, the UK's Mirror reports that Cowell is "begging" Cole to head up the UK version of "X Factor" as a consolation prize now that her big American debut has been thwarted. Additionally, "The Voice," which has made a splash with US audiences, is now moving over to the BBC, and Cole is apparently being courted for that gig as well.
"It would be a fresh start for her and would mean she could work with people who she trusts and who have her best interests at heart. It would also be a great way of sticking two fingers up at Simon Cowell," says a source at her record company, who notes that Cole has only been offered half of her previous "X Factor" salary to return to the UK version.
I think it's incredibly suspicious that neither the US X-Factor PR people nor Simon Cowell have released an official statement on this subject and it's nearing a week.
I showed my besties some Cheryl vids: specifically the Promise This, Fight For This Love, and Parachute videos. They loved her -- they both thought she could be a massive star here.
I'd forgotten how badass the Parachute video was, especially at the end when she has the two rows of men behind her.
So we've had a think about it and here's what Cheryl Cole needs to do next
1. Decide whether or not to be involved with The X Factor from this point forward. We are assuming, because there is no evidence to the contrary, that Cheryl was not aware of (or knowingly involved in) any cynical plot to create headline-grabbing dramz for the US X Factor launch by willingly putting herself forward to be axed. We are also assuming that - as far as Cheryl is concerned - it was not always the plan for Cheryl to return to the UK and take up her seat on the UK X Factor judging panel. We are assuming that she really has been thrown under the bus by The X Factor. If that is the case she's not alone - there are so many people under that bus now that they could conceivably join forces, lift the bus off the ground and throw it off a cliff. Anyway, presuming she really has been ****ed over by The X Factor and is (unexpectedly to her) being offered a role in the UK version, she must decide whether she really wants to be any part of it at all. The show effectively hung her out to dry over Gamugate last year. Perhaps it time for Cole to decide - not for the first time - that it is not worth being dicked around any more. Perhaps it is now time for her to walk away. But at what cost?
2. If she does tell The X Factor to stick it, her next move needs to be to decide what she is. All popstars should ask themselves this question every six months anyway but it's important that Cheryl does this now. Is she a singer who is also a celebrity? Is she a celebrity who happens to sing? Where does the TV work fit in with this? Should she be a TV personality, or a presenter? Where does she need to be in seven years and how does what she decides in the next three months impact on that? Which is she best at? In which area will she be most likely to succeed, and in which area will there be least resistance to success? What will she enjoy the most? Does she want a challenge, or is that the last thing she wants?
3. If she decides to continue with music, she should retain will.i.am as manager (if that's what he ever has been - we are not sure if sporting a procession of ridiculous headgear really justifies 20%) for precisely as long as it takes to secure the services only he can pull in from US pop production royalty. Once it's in the bag, either part ways or appoint a proper co-manager who'll treat her as a priority. She needs guidance to go in the right direction, and - even if she has managed to bag some decent tunes from her time with will.i.am - she needs someone who'll be frank with her about what she can and cannot do, particularly with regards to attempting to take on American performers at their own game. She has the potential to make extraordinary pop music - if that is what she wants to do. She doesn't need to make the sort of music footballers like.
4. Irrespective of any decisions made so far she needs to contribute some last minute backing vocals to the Nicola Roberts album for no reason other than it would be amazing.
On one hand this has basically just been a load of speculative drivel but there is something very important at the heart of all this: at some point in the coming days or weeks Cheryl will (consciously or otherwise) make one or various choices that will in turn decide whether she is a popstar or someone who just happens to sometimes make records. (For the record we would like the popstar back please cheers.)
I agree. I think she should focus more on being a popstar than on being a television personality. Maybe this sacking was actually a blessing in disguise, no?

I agree with the post. And yeah, I honestly believe this could hopefully mean to her deciding on what she truly wants to be in upcoming years.

Gurlll just order her albums online and manage.
I've developed a fear of artists breaking out into the US after how it led to the releases of crappy albums from both Jay Sean and Natasha Bedingfield.

You and I are just the same. I downloaded Lady Gaga's new one but it was so good I simply had to buy the tangible deluxe version when it dropped.
Also, where are you getting all of your delectable GIFs from?! Are you making them? I'm trying to learn how but I'm on a Mac and I just don't get it. I have Photoshop CS2 though!

Nah, I don't make my stuff sorry.
I make them 125x125 on this cheap & tacky site called Online Image Editor because I'm a huge dumb ass and don't know how to use Photoshop or any of these other online tricks people use for graphics.

Same here. Meaning I'll have to get Cheryl's soon. I'll have to wait a bit though because I'm still receiving all my physical copies of Avril's singles.
If I must pick, I'd get MLR first. Though I'd be tempted to get 3 Words for the cover art alone.
