I'm surprised BET showed the damn gun and blood. And this video is very forgettable. She ain't snatching wigs or nothing. Your typical Rihanna video. She's trying to "push the envelope" with this one. No shade, just the truth. I've learned not to expect a whole lot from Rihanna videos. I just expect for them to look pretty and have nice colors.
I didn't really like it, a video like this NEEDS a storyline since the song tells you an exact story. It started off good, I was ready to see why she killed him after he got shot, but I was let down. Ok they got into an argument? Over what.... and some of the beauty shots seemed out of place and just there to be seen. They should have really focused on her and him throughout the entire video and led us up to the murder.

I liked the music video thoroughly. It's one of the few Rihanna videos I actually enjoyed (Umbrella, Disturbia, OG, and WMN).

I think the storyline revolved around a vibrant island girl who seemed to be happy and carefree, someone whom everyone seemed to like (the island's answer to the All-American Girl Next Door type image). She went to a night club where we get the reggae and dutty wine vibe of the setting. One guy she was feeling got too touchy and ended up raping her (I assumed they didn't want to get too graphic with it and left the actual rape to the audience's imagination). The rape is what led her to killing him in front of a big crowd. The waterfalls kind of served as her washing herself of the filth she possibly felt was still on her after the rape. It was a nice storyline, but I would have liked them to go a little further with it, but I know she didn't want to get another video banned probably.

I don't think they'll actually show it in the uncut video, because as Foxay mentioned, they sort of just imply it. BET always edits the most important parts out of a music video, though. I'm sure the Vevo/Youtube version will have a few more scenes and will make more sense. I don't like the way BET cut the video. But yes, it is almost definitely a rape.
