IUSA only had like 50 million AI when it peaked. Both Circus and Womanizer peaked with 70 + million AI. Even if I Wanna Go only gets to that point (70 million) it will still be a bigger hit then Amy was. Radio seems to be behind her this era HIAM (90 million) and TTWE (100 million) have been her biggest airplay hits yet. I don't see why they wouldn't play I Wanna Go as well considering the past two singles.
Ok, there was the censor case, the no promo... But airplay stalled? :-/ It was a #6 Pop hit, it did pretty amazing for a Britney 3rd single.
Well it did stall. It got to #6 barely, and by luck. I believe some songs were falling ahead of it to allow it a few more positions. It did stall and peak though, the censor & overall stigma around the song helping that.
It's airplay was not that big, certainly it did not get as high as Circus and Womanizer. I think I Wanna Go can do better, especially considering her higher airplay peaks this era.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did I say Amy's airplay was as good as Womanizer and Circus? Guess not. I'm just saying it's not accurate to say it "stalled". It is, after all, the best a Britney 3rd single got after "(You Drive Me) Crazy" and "Everytime" - With one having promo and the other being actually something different for Britney.

There were a lot of factors during that time period though. Like 10 stations were removed from the panel, there was a clear channel playlist circulating around current stations during dead time periods that led to gains and losses for several songs. Spin counts were a mess. Some songs got to #1 when they barely had 8k spins. Songs were dropped from the chart, etc. Just chaos during the summer period of 09'.

I figured an argument was brewing over this nonsense.

Yes, I remember the mess that was going on during the "Amy" era. It was still very shaken up though. If all the negative things weren't going on, it would've survived that mess like other songs did.

No need to get testy....
I meant no harm...
But as you just showed, all Britney 3rd singles do reasonably well, it's not like this myth that all of Britney's 3rd singles flop or something. Break The Ice flopped for obvious reasons, but the rest of them have done fine. And I think I Wanna Go will do better than all of them.

Nothing surprising, there's always something happening when it comes to messing with Britney's chart runs.

They don't exactly do good. 'Crazy' and 'Everytime' did great and 'Amy' did good. The others FLOPPED hard on radio.
And I also *hope* IWG does better. Maybe another #3 hit?
I really hope they reschedule Ellen for June. Either they should pre-record a performance & interview in the next few weeks before the tour, or have her go on the show the day of her L.A. date. Anything less than this plan is unacceptable!
