Their album didn't win any Grammys, so all tracks released during the eligibility period should be eligible.

I just can't with Katy once again being overshadowed at the Grammy's for the 4th year in a row. Whether any pressed bitch here would admit it or not, Firework was gunna slay Pop Song, Record and Pop Vocals, but no, no, Adele had to come and not only snatch Katy's wig, but take her to a back alley and beat her to death with it. At the beginning of the year, I actually had hope because no one really seemed to give a crap about RITD, it opened decently but was falling fast, which I secretly took pleasure in.
But then, for some stupid ****ing reason, every talent competition on earth began using the song like a cheap *****, and it shot up to #1. I don't even know where to start, did I miss something? When did everyone else start giving a **** about talent, because frankly, I'm not here for that. And now, thanks to this bitch, I have to sit through another grammys, watch a bunch of boring performances, knowing that Katy will once again go home empty handed.
When every other pop ***** stan tried to come for Katy's award shelf, which is currently filled with People's choice and other awards that no one gives a **** about, Katy's stans would finally have some ammunition, and the pressed would have to revert to saying the Grammy's meant nothing while they still use it themselves as ammunition.
You know what? **** the grammys, **** RITD and **** you america and let my 7th post be my last on this god damn site.

ADELE! For the win for sure! Grammies always like when Non-Poplar or mainstream artist break into the mainstream! She will def win alot.
Britney actually has a chance at best dance record this year.

She already won a solo Grammy for Dilemma, so no dice.
I'll be back to do Record, Song and BNA - and also R&B Performance, Pop Solo Performance, and Country Solo Performance! Maybe Rap/Sung if you're lucky.

I honestly think that with or without RITD, she wouldn't have a chance. Sure it performed well, but she doesn't have that respect yet in the industry.

Right. Even if RiTD didn't take off, there was always a man called Bruno Mars standing in Mrs. Brand's way.
Speaking of ...
Best Pop Solo Performance
Adele, Rolling in the Deep *
Lady Gaga, Born This Way/The Edge of Glory [whatever gets submitted here]
Bruno Mars, Grenade
Katy Perry, Firework
Paul Simon, So Beautiful or So What
Analysis: Adele's winning. So the real race is to see who makes up the next four spots. Bruno is the second biggest lock - and could very well be the only man nominated. Gaga, because of what she's about to give the industry (the second million-plus opening week in less than a year), is in - with whatever song gets submitted. Hopefully her label is smart, and submits TEOG to Pop Solo, BTW to Dance Recording and treats Judas like radio stations all over the world have - with a shrug. Katy, who I thought when the news of combined categories first broke was a goner, has simply been to big to ignore - and, especially if she gets a fifth number one, she's in. She'll lose for the fourth year in a row, but those are the lumps she'll have to take. I'm taking a chance with Paul Simon, as NARAS hasn't been too veteran crazy the past two years - I'm thinking his SNL promo will put him over the edge.
Possibles: - Pink, ****in Perfect, Rihanna, California King Bed, Beyoncé, End of Time/That Babyface song, Christina Perri, Jar of Hearts, some random instrumental.

I hope Adele doesn't get jinxed by everyone saying that she's a lock to dominate. Remember what happened to Mariah back in 1996? I'm still pissed off.

I hope she doesn't get jinxed either. But I think Mariah had a lot of competition back then. She lost to a lot of strong and deserving contenders (AOTY to Alanis, ROTY to Seal, R&B Female to Anita Baker, Pop Female to Annie Lennox, Pop Collaboration to The Chieftains & Van Morrison, and Pop Album to Joni Mitchell). Adele, at least, will benefit from a weak year in music. Besides GaGa, I can't think of much competition for her, and I'm not even convinced that GaGa will dominate like that. Adele does have that Amy, Norah, Dixie Chicks, and Alicia Keys type feel that would attract many voters. So, she is a strong contender, at the very least. I never thought the NARAS liked Mariah. lol

Yeah, they don't like Mariah. In many ways, Taylor is the new Mariah - they only nominate/reward her when they absolutely have to (see the snub of Mine last year).
Which is another reason Taylor's not showing up too many places this year.

My favorite artists always get snubbed (see: Mariah and Rihanna. And I was really hoping for Janelle to slay but I forget Grammys are here for quantity more than quality) so.. I think Adele will reign.

Adele or Gaga. But its going to be hard since Adele... you know... its Adele. I'm fine aslong as Gaga wins for best Pop/Dance Album.

I think the fact that Janelle didn't have any crossover/chart success hurt her chances greatly.

Whitney Houston and Celine Dion had similar issues. The voters liked them, but not enough to give them multiple wins every time they dropped an album. Christina Aguilera is another one. It's something about these big-voiced divas who are mainly known for their voices.
The voters love singer-songwriters that appeal to oldies and youngsters. Mariah is that, but she was still someone the voters just didn't take seriously because she was put in the "safe" bunch with Whitney and Celine.

Let's talk about the different submission strategies we think the big guns in pop so use this year.
Lady Gaga
As I stated before, Judas is a dead fish. Let it die, and don't submit it anywhere. Push Born This Way and the Edge of Glory to Dance and Pop, respectively, and then take a page out of the Bey 08-09 playbook and divide them for the big three; BTW to Record of the Year and TEOG to Song of the Year.
Now the problem becomes - where do you submit the album? Does she want to win this year, or continue to get nominated next year? If it's the former, push it in Dance/Electronic Album; the latter, send it to Pop Vocal and take the loss when Adele mollywhops her competition. I vote for the latter, because You and I SCREAMS Pop Vocal nominee/winner.
In summation:
Album of the Year, Born This Way
Song of the Year, The Edge of Glory
Record of the Year, Born This Way
Pop Vocal Album/Dance/Electronic Album, Born This Way
Pop Solo Performance, The Edge of Glory
Dance Recording, Born This Way
6 nominations in total - 1-2 wins (both in the Dance field.)
