Why do you guys make such a big deal out of it? If she's a homophobe, she wouldn't have gay dancers or gay stylists.. & HYPOCRITE is such a big word..

But seriously, though. If there is one, I will take any other excuse... but
the "time constraint" excuse. There's so many other parts that could have been cut out.

Nah.
That's a good excuse, and if I used any others, you would have said "HONESTLY, that's not a good enough excuse."
You're just trying to make her look bad.
Honestly trying hard, keep going though, someday... Just keep swimming.

Wasn't she given heat for those "exploitative" lyrics?
Now she omits same lyrics for time, she gets heat for being a homophobe.

God, you and several others here are so dense and simple minded.
We're not saying she's a homophobe. What we're saying is she clearly needs to stop parading around as a Gay Icon and Advocate for Civil Rights and Equality when she clearly isn't doing so if it doesn't benefit her.
Like I said originally, this incidence proves to me that she is using the gay community for exposure, media attention, and success. She clearly backed down to the network execs or whoever wanted her to omit that portion of the song. That is not an advocate. That would be like us giving Rosa Parks the same praise had she gotten her tired ass up off the seat like the ignorant people on the bus demanded her to. No.
She chose to get publicity for her album and her song as opposed to stand up for gay rights. Which is fine - if she wants to just be a pop star. No one in here is saying this makes her a horrible person or whatever. However, what it does is strip away any self-given title she may have regarding being a positive figure amongst the gay community. She is not one of our supporters because a true supporter wouldn't back down and let the entire community be discriminated against by not allowing just their simple orientation to be said on live television.
Gaga is a smart woman and a phenomenal musician, but she is a phony and a scam artist. It's the young simple minded fools like so many in this thread that think just because a woman struts around in couture heels and claims she loves the gays that she's automatically some advocate for our people. Guess what, she's not.

I think gays will be let down as they should be and if yous can't see this is wrong and are just gonna make up excuses then I actually think yous are the ones that are pressed!!

You pretty much just described half of the modern "gay icons". Difference is though, is that GaGa stands up and fights for their rights unlike most of them who just tweet about how they "love" them. We shouldn't get too butt hurt about her cutting a portion of the lyrics (for unknown reasons, I still think it's because of the time) that she performed countless times on television already.

Interesting. She must have a reason though for doing that.

Well, she had to abide by GMA and ABC's rules or they could have cut her promo short. It's as simple as that.

God, some people just can't deal with this. There is obviously some motive, she needs to keep cute with GMA so that she can use it for future promo. Gaga also believes that her monsters know that this song is for everybody and not just particular groups. Gaga's life is not the gays. They're a big part of her, but stop being so mother****ing selfish. It's understandable to be upset, but to question her motives is cruel considering she is the only relevant pop star who is really fighting for gay rights.

No, I described half the modern women that these narrow-minded, simple young gays, much like the ones posting in this thread, believes are gay icons. Other women go around and just be themselves, and because they inspire our community, they become Gay Icons. Gaga on the other hand has taken it upon herself to become a Gay Icon, on her own merit. Well guess what, if you want to be a gay icon, ****ing act like one. Don't go around speaking out in public conferences about equality when you easily give in to some overly-conservative and morally-bankrupt television program just to get some publicity. A REAL gay icon would've either done it anyway, or cancelled the performance. She chose to put her career and herself over standing up for the gay community, which is not something an icon nor an advocate would do. THAT is the problem I have.

And that's what makes her a musician and not a gay icon. That's all I and several other members on here are saying. It's a simple as that.

Really, you gotta go. Come on.
Look at your posts... Your entire existence on this site is built around criticizing Gaga's every move.
That makes you a troll and that's not necessary here.

No, to question her motives isn't cruel. To NOT question her motives is naive. And obviously your sense of understanding in this situation is deluded as you clearly are a Gaga stan true and true.
What we are saying is that she is NOT really fighting for gay rights if she is going to let a TV network stop her from just saying the words "gay" "lesbian" and "transgender." A TRUE advocate would not, in a million years, be okay with that. Gaga seemingly was.
I will say Gaga has always been very vocal about the gay community and with this incident, it's all becoming very questionable to me. Until other news comes about that proves otherwise, I truly believe she uses the gay community to further herself. Which is what she shown with this performance. Because, had she really been someone who is fighting for equality amongst the gays, she would've put the community before herself, and she didn't.

I see what you are saying. But people still have to remember, behind all the gimmicks and "you are beautiful" talk, GaGa is still on a major label, so she has to follow rules like everyone else or she has to suffer the consequences. Her label has spent so much money on her this era and she cannot **** that up. I was never convinced that she was this super gay advocate (though I do think she really support gays, just not the way she puts on for her fans).

Um....that's exactly all I was saying.
She is quite clearly not a gay advocate, but both she, and her fans, claim she is one. That's all I said. No one is burning crosses on her lawn or saying she should be boycotted. All I'm saying is she clearly needs to stop being referred to as something she clearly is not.

People like to act like Gaga is floating above earth on a cloud free of restrictions, ******** out hits, and gracing earth with her performances. Really, she's just a part of the big mean machine that is the music business.
