And yes, the mobile industry is big in the USA, but Best Buy is only a fraction of that industry. You do realize that other places sell these phones, with far better numbers.

I laughed at the article at first because of the idea that Gaga thinks she can move 200,000 units with this promotion. If she really wanted to make an impact, she should have done it through the carriers or even Wal-mart.

Well of course. Like I said before, it wouldn't make me decide to go buy a phone, but it would sway me if I was already planning on getting a new phone. Which is why I still said that she's going to be giving A LOT of people her album, when they probably won't even care to listen to it, basically giving people something they don't want. Many people will go into Best Buy, only wanting a smartphone, but coming out with two copies of her album.

I agree. I always enjoy watching meltdowns, though I'm surprised the gaga stans haven't foamed at the mouth the way other stan bases do. It seems to be the anti Gagas that are getting huffy over Gaga news.
I must admit, this does seem like a pretty desperate move on her behalf, but it seems like it's a failed desperate attempt. I really can't fathom the idea that this would count in sales and would even move that many units.

I'm looking on Gaga daily and i can't find this article about Gaga paying the stations. AyuM did say we were using that as a source, so I'm looking.

He/She was lying. There's no proof that Gaga pay radio. LMAO Haters love Gaga so much that they always invent stories to trash her but it's all good cause that's why she's the biggest star on the planet. As long as Haters keep doing their job

I'm not sure how I feel about the albums counting for the sales... But either way, there is no denying how brilliant this move is. IMO there is nothing desperate about this. It is purely smart marketing. Whether it's 50,000 or 200,000 people who will get the album this way, that is 50,000-200,000 more people who will potentially hear the album. 50,000-200,000 mor people who will become potential fans. 50,000-200,000 people who will potentially buy concert tickets. No matter how you look at it, it is a brilliant move.
