The numbers mean that almost 2 million smartphones are sold EVERY WEEK in the USA.
Even if the huge chunk of sales occur during the holiday season...
The 200,000 estimate is still fairly conservative. They are giving away 2 copies for each mobile phone.

(p.s. if one were going to purchase a phone and were to get an album for free, wouldn't you only get it if the album was something you wanted?)
For instance, if it were a Beyonce album, I'd be damned if I'd go out and buy a phone.
Sorry. I don't like Beyonce.
Now if it were Ke$ha, Britney, GaGa, or Xtina, I'd think about it.
People just want to see GaGa die out. They just jealous she's making bank when they ain't. @_@

Please. Really? Samsung phones are probably the least popular cell phone brand and best buy is notorius for their sky high phone prices. Most people go directly to the phone carrier stores.
Even though i distrust this it would have been great to go with the iphone.

The deal is for a number of phone types, with an activation making them cheap. Samsung may be the least popular, but it's also cheap and a high number of people opt to get it compared to the expensive phones.

No. If I needed a phone, I'd get a phone. I wouldn't care about the two free albums. Sure, it'd be like a happy meal toy, it might even could sway my opinion on whether I go to Best Buy or Target, but I wouldn't get a phone I didn't like because I got two free copies of BTW.
A LOT of people are gonna be going into Best Buy next week to buy cell phones, and they'll be very surprised when they get two free copies of BTW. A lot of people that didn't know about the album, didn't care for it, didn't want it, don't know who Lady Gaga is, are going to go into Best Buy to get a cell phone, and walk out with two free CD's that they probably don't even care about. It's kinda like giving out extra ketchup when you go to McDonald's, sure a lot of people might use it, but a lot of times you'll just end up throwing it away. It's pretty much, my point being, that she's going to be giving it out to a lot of people that don't want it AND counting it as sales.
