Can we talk stans? Does it not bother anyone else that Britney hasn't been acknowledged for her success and accomplishments in the industry by anyone but the Teen Choice Awards? I'm still scratching my head at why Billboard hasn't done so, yet they're doing it for Beyonce and don't give me that copout excuse that Britney turned the award down so they went to Beyonce next on the list. We all know that's a damn lie and I am not here for such lies.
Britney has never been a favorite of the critics, but her records and success speaks volumes about her. While I am happy Beyonce is getting another major award for her career accomplishments, I can't help but feel disappointed that Britney has yet to receive such accolades. If there were any shows I would want her to be honored at, it's BMA's, VMA's, and WMA's.

i don't mind. this era is probably not her time i say her next album. and since its not only britney who's being so underrated. bey is just overrated.

It does bother me, cause compared to her contemporaries her music has been consistently on another level. Though Circus was a slip-up, for obvious reasons, I think Britney is among one of the most consistent artists in the industry, as the years go by she is still putting out quality work, while other girls put out "the bare minimum".
While Award shows may not acknowledge her, the one thing I have noticed in alot of the reviews for Femme Fatale, is critics giving her, her due. Review after review, many of the critics said she doesn't get the credit she deserves.
But not even Madonna was given her due, it wasn't till 1999 she actually won a Grammy for her music. She was criticized, and dragged through the mud just like Britney has been, but now as time has gone on people have recognized Madonna for her influence and artistry., And with Femme Fatale I think the focus was finally put back on her music, and the reviews prove that. She may not become a Grammy darling, but no one can deny her influence and the quality in he work...people can shade and bash her all they want, but they know when it comes to music...Britney brings it like no other.
I always see people say she has no respect in the music community, but I have never seen or heard someone say something bad about her...from producers, to other artists, and now critics..they all have nothing but nice things to say about her. An award isn't a sign of respect, half the albums nominated last year for Album of The Year, had worse metacritc scores than CIRCUS. The quality in her work reward enough.

I totally agree. I think part of the reason is that Jive isn't that interested in showing off her achievements. Hell they can't even update her record sales from 2003. Beyonce has one of the best and aggressive managements around who will work to get every accolade and award they can get their hands on. Britney and her management just don't seem to care about these type of things.

Which is something that bothers me to no end. They should care because you deserve to be acknowledge for the work you have put out and all that you have accomplished over the years. She is the biggest pop culture figure of our time who has sold millions worldwide, when will she finally get her due?

I agree boo...but everything is ALWAYS late when it comes to Britney.
Radio hasn't even warmed up to her until now.....the same can be sad for a lot of things.
Our only saving grace is that Madonna was often overlooked and never really critically acclaimed until her 7th album. 
It's only going to better better for Britney from here on out. Britney WILL get her due, and with her getting older -- I think it's going to start very soon.

It BETTER!!! I feel like it's not just her that's being disrespected but the levels of success she has as well. The woman is one of the 6th best selling female in this country alone and let's not even talk about worldwide. When we look at records she sets...she consistently is in the company of legends. Hell when the touring numbers for the decade came out, Britney was the only person in the top 30 that was under the age of 40 years old.

She has never been very respected by usic industry. i think because of the lyp-sinching and that won't change, so I don't think she will be aknowldged like that
